Job Description:

The successful Data Scientist Architect will join an enthusiastic team responsible for designing and implementing the bank’s enterprise-wide data science platform by envisioning and executing projects that leverage modern data science and distributed high-performance computing capabilities to implement mission-critical end-to-end solutions for the global business.

This role is highly collaborative: the Data Scientist Architect will develop and maintain consultative relationships with key business stakeholders including business executives, data scientists, data engineers/technologists, risk/compliance functions and other teams across the bank on a broad range of data science projects with a particular focus on machine learning. Many projects involve text/NLP.

In total we are seeking three Data Scientists to oversee three areas of responsibility:

  • Data Science Architect – Solutions Development
  • Data Science Architect – Model Risk Management
  • Data Science Architect – Text/NLP Solutions

We believe that solid career experience in data science is critical to building an exceptional enterprise data science platform. Therefore we’re looking for data scientists who are keen to use their modeling experience to design and build a state-of-the art data science platform for a community of many thousands of data scientists and hundreds of complex ML/AI models deployed in real-time and at scale.

The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative qualifications and excellent communication skills ideally with experience across data science, computer science, business and project management.

  • 7+ years of experience required: at least five years hands-on data science modeling and five years responsibility leading or managing data science or technical projects in a business or industrial environment
  • Expertise with a broad range of data science tools such as machine learning, deep learning, classical regression, decision trees/forests, boosted models, clustering, optimization, and all associated tools and techniques.
  • Strong business communication and project management skills
  • Quantitative degree with strong statistical component: for example Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Neuroscience, Econometrics, Bioinformatics, etc.
  • Strong experience with Python, SAS, R, Matlab or other statistical modeling tools is expected
  • PhD, Masters, and/or academic research experience is highly regarded
  • Software engineering experience using C/C++/C#/Java/Scala or similar is highly regarded
  • M.B.A and/or strategy consulting experience very highly regarded when combined with a strong quantitative degree and hands on data science experience
