Chief Financial Officer Group Overview

The Finance Management Analyst Program (FMAP) will introduce you to Bank of America and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group. The CFO Group is responsible for the overall financial management of our company – financial and regulatory reporting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, treasury, accounting, investor relations, corporate investments, and tax.

Finance Management Analyst Program Overview

This job is responsible for participating in the Finance Management Analyst Program (FMAP), a two-year rotational development program focusing on financial and management accounting, corporate and strategic finance, and internal treasury functions within the CFO Group. Key responsibilities include partnering with different internal business functions to develop a solid knowledge base of the CFO functional areas and a broad range of skills.  Job expectations include working on projects, research, and activities designed to build business acumen and demonstrate intellectual curiosity. When analysts complete the program, they have a better idea of areas they are interested in within CFO and have a unique set of skills to take with them to their next role.

Training and development are our top priority with extensive formal training offered at the start of the program in addition to on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout.

A Day in the Life/Responsibilities:

The Program is structured as two one-year rotations across different teams within the CFO Group. The program gives participants a glimpse into the overall financial management of our company, vision, and culture. The primary responsibilities of a Finance Management Analyst may include but are not limited to:

  • Takes proactive approach to learning the bank’s products, strategies, opportunities for enhancements, Operational Excellence, culture and CFO Priorities.
  • Forecasts financial and non-financial trends, develops models and performs financial analysis of business investments
  • Supports internal financial planning and management accounting functions
  • Presents financial data and analysis to business partners and key stakeholders
  • Utilizes emerging technologies to simplify and improve processes across the CFO Group
  • Networks with finance executives and FMAP alumni network to cultivate meaningful relationships across various lines of business
  • Advances leadership skills by leading and/or participating in projects and committees

Finance Management Opportunities:

The Finance Management Analyst Program assigns participants to a position supporting one of the teams within the CFO Group.  Rotations provide the opportunity for the Analysts to support different teams across the various business groups listed below.

  • CFO COO & Governance
  • CFO Data Management
  • Corporate Treasury
  • Global Financial Control
  • Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets and International Finance
  • Global Technology and Global Operations Finance
  • Regional Banking & Wealth Management Finance
  • Staff Support Finance
  • Strategic Forecasting and Expense Management

*Rotations are developed based on business need and aligned to skillset and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates must have a final graduation date between November 2025 and August 2026.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Common areas of study include but are not limited to:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Economics
    • Business Administration
    • Mathematics/Statistics
    • Data Analytics
    • Information systems (w/ finance focus)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong financial and accounting knowledge (understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting)
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborative
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and processes
  • Leadership experience through student organizations, internships, or projects
