Intern Program Overview

The Global Human Resources Summer Associate Development Program is a 10-week summer internship that will introduce you to Bank of America and GHR. Our goal for summer interns is to provide the opportunity to build upon your academic foundation – specifically technical skills, industry knowledge and familiarity with a corporate environment – while fostering an environment where you can pursue your career based on your interests and background.

Interns’ training and development are our top priority. Extensive formal training will be offered at the start of the program in addition to on-the-job support, events, and mentorship throughout. These opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • Company guided trainings focused on the Mechanics of the Bank, Data Literacy, Executive Ready Presentations and more

A Day in the Life

GHR internships last 10 weeks and aligns our human capital strategy to the business strategy, enabling the bank to connect with customers and clients by attracting, developing, and retaining a world-class workforce to drive growth at Bank of America.  As a Summer Associate, you will be placed on one team where your primary responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Support line of business initiatives that make the bank a great place for people to work by creating an environment where all employees can achieve their goals.
  • Connect with senior HR leaders to better understand how HR drives critical business decisions and serves as a strategic partner throughout the bank.
  • Directly contribute to business advisory, operations, HR processes, and special projects.

GHR Opportunities

The GHR Program assigns hires to teams across the organization. Rotations include positions in various HR-specific functions, including but not limited to HR Business Partner/Generalists, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Employee Relations, Diversity & Inclusion, HR Process & Operations, the Academy (Learning & Business Performance) and Global Talent.

Our goal is to provide important, relevant, and varied assignments based on real-time business needs while also considering participant skillsets; therefore, specific functional assignments cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years, full-time meaningful and related work experience is required.
  • Candidates are required to be pursuing an MBA or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between graduation date between November 2026 and August 2027.
  • Common areas of study include but are not limited to industrial or organizational psychology, human resources management, communications, industrial labor relations, organizational development, or other related degrees.
  • Candidates should possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, a drive for operational excellence and a commitment to achieving sustainable results.
  • Additionally, candidates should hold strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office and exhibit proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem solving and analytical skills, verbal, and written communication, as well as professionalism.
