Job Description & Program Overview

Our Off-Cycle Analyst program is designed to offer you a broad and exciting experience of what it is like to work as a full time Capital Markets analyst. Analysts in the Debt Capital Markets (‘DCM’) business, within our Global Capital Markets (‘GCM’) team, are involved in originating and executing a wide variety of debt solutions for our clients.

 

You will work with our GCM partners, in addition to our Corporate and Investment bankers, to support with advising clients on optimal methods to access financing, whether for acquisitions, general financing or strengthening of balance sheets. For applications to the Paris program, if successful you will be assigned to the FIG team within DCM. Financial Institutions Group (‘FIG’) is a team that covers bank and other non-bank financial institution clients across EMEA. 

 

As an off-cycle analyst, your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Assist DCM professionals with deal origination and execution across a diverse range of product areas
  • Work as a product specialist directly with our clients at top management level to create and deliver financing solutions through DCM (bonds, loans, FX and rates) products
  • Develop a strong understanding of market fundamentals and be able to make market-informed contributions on a broad array of financing strategies that address clients’ specific needs
  • Design highly tailored presentations for clients to outline solutions to their financing needs (including for bank clients to meet their regulatory capital requirements and optimise their capital stacks)
  • Staying abreast of regulatory developments, and working alongside our Capital Products team to assess implications for clients, as well as advise on the structuring of bank capital instruments
  • Work on live transactions and interact with clients and professionals from across the bank as you build your network and experience
  • Work closely with Investment Banking and Corporate Banking teams on client coverage and origination, and with our Sustainable Banking Solutions Group on a broad array of ESG-related topics and advising on ESG financing solutions
  • Work with sales teams and traders in Global Markets to coordinate and manage live deal executions, and liaise with Global Research to stay informed on the latest market developments

 

Eligibility

  • Candidates are required to be in their penultimate or final year of study pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, with a graduation timeframe between January 2025 and July 2026
  • Achieved minimum of 112 UCAS point (or equivalent) and on track for a minimum 2:1 degree classification (or equivalent)
  • Fluency in English is essential for all roles and the local language is desirable for regional roles
  • Must be available to join the 3-month program from late September 2025
