Program Overview

The Global Technology Analyst Program is a one-year development program designed for recent college graduates to facilitate your transition from academia to a professional career. Participants are supported by a dedicated Program Manager and are also provided with structured learning and development trainings to aid in your success. Our new hire curriculum focuses on business acumen in addition to technical and professional readiness. As part of your new hire experience, you will attend a robust orientation event to first provide a strong foundation upon which to build your knowledge and career at Bank of America. The program also includes networking and volunteer opportunities to aid in building your community within and outside of the program. Highlights of the program experience shared by past participants include organizational culture, networking, employee development, and more!

During the Global Technology Analyst Program, your responsibilities will vary based on your location, job profile, and team assignment.

Your opportunity might include:

  • Helping grow and manage the critical systems and technology platforms needed to maintain the company’s market-leading positions in all its businesses, such as deposits, payment products, consumer lending, and investment banking
  • Defining business requirements, identifying data sources to meet those requirements, and mining data sources to discover business and customer insights
  • Responding, researching, measuring, detecting, and mitigating potential security attacks that attempt to compromise our network

Although the role you take on may vary, every participant will have the opportunity for continued learning through trainings, professional development, networking events, volunteer activities, speaker series, and more! During your time with Bank of America, you’ll strengthen your key skills and competencies to help jump start your career and make a real impact on our business from day one. After concluding the program, you will continue on with your team as a traditional full-time employee and have access to internal mobility resources to further guide your career path.

Where Can I Expect to Work?

Available locations vary by role and include Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Dallas Metro, TX; NY Metro; Pennington, NJ; Richmond, VA.

  • Dallas Metro: office placement is in Addison or Plano
  • NY Metro: office placement is in New York, NY or Jersey City, NJ

Who Are We Looking For?

Education:

  • Degree Type: Bachelor’s Degree ONLY (BA/BS/BSc/BEng)
  • Graduation Dates: December 2024 – August 2025
    • This program is intended for graduates of undergraduate programs whose degree is conferred 1-2 semesters prior to program start and are no longer enrolled in any degree program.
  • Major/Course of Study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or similar degree of relevance
  • GPA: 3.2 minimum GPA preferred

What You’ll Do – Explore Potential Roles

Below you will find the job profiles/roles for the Global Technology Analyst Program. For all roles, teams are assigned Mid-Spring. Doing so offers the ability to assign program participants to real-time business critical needs.

Software Engineer:

Recommended Skillsets:

  • Understanding of Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, C# or C++, .NET, HTML
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix. Ability to work in application frameworks such as Angular,

Key tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide technical excellence to design, develop, and maintain state-of-the-art technology applications
  • Gather and translate internal and external client requirements into technical design specifications, business process reengineering
  • Code solutions, unit tests, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces
  • Participates and contributes to the delivery/release (CI/CD) events. e.g., branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes

Business Analyst:

Recommended Skillsets:

  • Understanding of Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, C or C++, .NET, R
  • Familiarity in Tableau, Hadoop, JIRA, Confluence, & Excel
  • Prior coursework and/or internship experience in project management and/or technology consulting

Key tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the liaison between business partners and software development teams to translate business requirements into technical requirements and ensure that systems or applications support and conform to business needs and specifications
  • Coordinate the process of analyzing functional specifications, use cases, process flows and user interface requirements
  • Collaborate with software testers to develop valid test plans and test scripts

Data Management Analyst:

Recommended Skillsets:

  • Understanding of Python, SQL, R, Scala
  • Familiarity in data visualization tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Tableau, PowerBI, Splunk, Excel, and/or Oracle.

Key tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather and translate internal and external client requirements into technical design specifications suitable for the application of machine learning
  • Provide technical excellence to apply state-of-the-art machine learning / artificial intelligence utilizing technologies such as Spark, R, Hadoop, Scala, SQL to real world infrastructure business problems. Define strategies and parameters for predictive models and data mining projects, ensuring data integrity and usability
  • Partner with business, product, and technology teams across the organization to evolve machine learning and data science capabilities within the bank

Cybersecurity Analyst:

Recommended Skillsets:

  • Coursework in Cyber Security, Networking, Information Systems, and/or Programming
  • Knowledge of industry trends and current threat landscape
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and correlate information from a wide variety of enterprise technologies
  • Interest in working in a global team of industry leading cybersecurity experts across multiple cyber domains
  • Practical understanding of core cyber security principles

Key tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide analytical, strategic, and technical skills to design, develop, implement, and use state-of-the-art technology cybersecurity solutions aimed at reducing risk
  • Responsible for delivering innovative capabilities in team environment, as well as leveraging skills, background, and interests for a specific group within Global Information Security
  • Respond to, research, measure, detect and mitigate security attacks that attempt to compromise at the network and application layers
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors

Mainframe Analyst:

Locations Include: Charlotte, NC; Dallas Metro, TX (Office placement in Addison or Plano); Richmond, VA

Recommended Skillsets:

  • Familiar in one or more mainframe technologies COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, WMQ, z/OS; as well as Job Control Language (JCL)            

Key tasks and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge in basic IBM Mainframe systems (e.g., transaction and database managers, message queue managers, and operating system and communication services)
  • Assists in translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
  • Assists Technical Analysts by ensuring system design technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
