The Fed Settlements Analyst is an integral position within the financial services sector, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the settlement process for transactions executed through the Federal Reserve by the trading desk. In today’s rapidly evolving financial landscape, the importance of precise and timely settlements cannot be understated. The analyst will engage with various teams, including daily engagements with the trading and sales desks, operational teams, and regulatory bodies to facilitate optimal settlement practices. Furthermore, this role will involve resolving discrepancies in transaction records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and implementing best practices to enhance settlement processes. The ideal candidate will be adept at leveraging analytical skills to interpret data, predict potential settlement issues, and develop strategies to mitigate risks . This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the wider financial ecosystem, enhance professional development, and participate in initiatives that drive process improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the settlement process for Fed transactions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

  • Monitor and resolve discrepancies related to settlement reports and confirm settlements with counterparties.

  • Liaise with various departments, including trading, finance, and compliance, to ensure alignment on settlement protocols.

  • Conduct regular analysis of settlement data to identify trends, risks, and areas for process improvement.

  • Assist in the development and execution of testing for new systems or enhancements related to settlement functions.


Required Skills:

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Presentable, confident and client focused. Client facing experience or ability to conduct discussions with Clients in a confident manner

  • Excellent communications skills and ability to present to an audience

  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment

  • Ability to liaise with all levels of the firm and people with different experiences and backgrounds

  • Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. Candidate will be able to manage own time and know when to escalate

  • Knowledge of Operational Risk, Client Money Protection and Funding
