Job Description:
This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution aligned to the enterprise architecture strategy, technology, and platform choices. Key responsibilities include describing the solution intent/associated operating environment, evaluating system impacts, determining the primary systems/sub-systems and their interfaces, and assisting with end-to-end solution design. Job expectations include defining non-functional requirements/architectural runway to support new epics/features and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose by working with stakeholders and service providers.

Position Summary:

We provide Global Payment Solutions Payments with direction on technology strategy and solutions in order to align with the business strategy. We manage architecture-related risks along with driving adherence to published standards, principles and technology blueprints. We have an exciting Solutions Architect opportunity for an experienced technologist supporting Corporate Payments, Accounting Services, Liquidity Management, Receivables, Trade & Supply Chain Finance and Commercial Card domains. The team have a global presence in the US, EMEA and APAC. You will have the opportunity to work on an exciting, challenging and varied book of work.

Responsibilities:

  • Consults with the business and operations to identify and understand challenges and opportunities to improve the use and effectiveness of technology, find creative solutions through knowledge of the domain, practical experiments, and Proof of Concepts, and aligns the solution intent and architectural vision to an evolving backlog of technology change
  • Works with product management and other stakeholders to plan and prioritize technology focused backlog items for the architecture runway to enable business epics/features
  • Performs design and code reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (for example, security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability)
  • Leads rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements and ensures architecture is flexible, modular, and designed to adapt easily
  • Educates team members on the technology practices, standardization strategies, and best practices to create innovative solutions
  • Clarifies the architecture and assists with system design for the development teams to support implementation and provides solution options to resolve any architectural impediments
  • Utilizes the defined best practices, templates, and documentation to create architectural designs and suggests improvements to best practices and templates
  • Responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution architecture which aligns with the business strategy, enterprise architecture strategy, technology and platform choices.
  • Describes the solution intent and the associated operating environment, determines the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces, defining non-functional requirements.
  • Ensures the solution is fit for purpose by working with stakeholders, vendors/service providers. In parallel, evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions.
  • Working with both business and technology to create the solution intent and architectural vision.
  • Leads rapid shaping of a high level architecture with details filled in with emerging business requirements; ensures architecture is flexible and modular and designed to adapt easily.
  • Utilizes the defined best practices, templates and documentation to create architectural designs.
  • Performs design reviews to ensure all non-functional requirements for a solution are sufficiently met (e.g. security, performance, maintainability, scalability, usability, and reliability).

Required Qualifications:

  • Domain knowledge of Corporate Payments, Accounting Services, Liquidity Management, Receivables, Trade & Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Card domains (Corporate Payments is essential).
  • Proficiency in API Design, microservices, and integration platforms.
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Driving a shared service strategy and performance culture.
  • Drives best practices approach to the continuous improvement of our products, processes and tools.
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Relevant IT experience (SDLC- Waterfall / Agile).
  • Strong Business Partner coordination.
  • Able to lead and contribute to automation, causal analysis and development of shared/common solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (both to a technical and non-technical audience).
  • Analytical Thinking, Attention to Detail, Problem Solving and Innovative thinking.
  • Translating complex concepts into multiple architectural “views” aimed at varying audiences.
  • Broad based IT knowledge and experience. (Financial Software, Middleware, Databases).
  • Interpreting business needs and applying innovative technology solutions.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/related field or related work experience.
  • TOGAF 9 Certified
  • Cloud Solutions Architect Certification (AWS, Azure, GCP)
