Analyst/Associate: Global Research - Investment Strategist

Job Description:

The position is for an analyst/associate on the Global Investment Strategy team. This person will be part of a small team reporting to the Chief Investment Strategist. The team is responsible for conducting research & analysis on global markets and economies, and formulating investment views about a wide range of asset classes (stocks, bonds, commodities, currencies, alternatives). The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of relevant work experience, strong quantitative skills, experience with data analysis and/or financial modeling, strong writing skills, ability to be a team player and also communicate regularly with external clients, and creative thinking on global markets, policy, and macroeconomics

The candidate will work alongside their Senior Analyst in all aspects of the research process; including the following:

  • Conduct macroeconomic research on global markets, geopolitical trends, equities, bonds, commodities, and alternatives
  • Analyze a wide variety of data on asset prices, investor positioning, global policy, and the economy to identify investment opportunities
  • Demonstrate strong quantitative skills to solve complex problems and develop data-driven investment framework
  • Develop & analyze large databases using advanced mathematical & statistical methods
  • Collaborate internally with the team, salespeople, other research professionals
  • Interact regularly with clients; participate in and contribute to regular reports, client requests, client meetings, conference calls
  • Work closely with sales to respond to various ad hoc requests
  • Seek out new, value-added, and/or unusual sources of information

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Finance or Economics
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience either in macro or fundamental (credit/equity) research or related field
  • Along with Finance, should have an understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
  • Must enjoy working in databases, and doing desktop and field research
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and familiar with Python

New York pay and benefits information

New York pay range:

$70,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
