Job Description:
This job is responsible for the delivery of integrated treasury solutions to clients and prospects that may be in the United States (US) or global. Key responsibilities include actively managing and pursuing treasury revenue streams along with increasing product penetration across an assigned portfolio and partnering closely with client-facing teammates to consult on sales opportunities. Job expectations include providing product knowledge to deliver the best possible solution to meet the client and prospect’s needs.
- This is a Treasury Sales Officer role based in Shanghai, managing a portfolio of the subsidiaries of US and Canada HQ’ed Global Commercial Banking (GCB) clients in China.
- New sales wins, revenue growth and retention within a predefined portfolio as a Corporate Sales Consultant across all BofA markets – across Treasury, Trade and FX.
- Engage key decision makers of the largest and most demanding clients advancing the relationships from 1) access 2) dialogue 3) material relationship 4) pipeline 5) mandate, to 6) strategic advisor.
- Work closely with other regions and Global Commercial banking team to deliver solution to our clients.
- Pro-active approach to sales, sending unsolicited proposals, lead client engagement & pitches / presentations, and respond to RFPs (request for proposal).
- Constantly review client names to ensure that the names achieve and maintain hurdle profitability levels or exit the relationship based on the Bank’s business objectives.
- Coordinate with implementation and services teams to ensure a smooth implementation and high client satisfaction.
- Ensure timely resolution of relationship-sensitive client servicing issues within the organization and act as the senior escalation point in relationship-sensitive key service issues.
- Ensure complete alignment in client selection and growth strategies with Global Commercial Banking colleagues.
- Ensure full observance of and adherence to applicable compliance and other regulatory requirements and guidelines.
- Provide client and market feedback to management and business partners, including for product development and enhancement.
- Act as Corporate client Sales liaison with Banking, Investment Banking, Credit and Risk; Compliance; Product Management; Client Delivery & Service; Implementation; and Operations.
- Produce or provide input for both external and internal marketing to enhance the visibility of the Bank of America franchise.
- Participate in industry events, represent Bank of America externally.
- Coach and support the development of team resources, including Treasury Sales Analysts (TSA).
- Provide input and briefing information for senior management client calls and other interactions in-region.
- Ensures responsible revenue and balance sheet growth, profitability improvement, client calling and planning, portfolio development, pricing strategy, proposal responses, and leads client facing treasury presentations.
- Partners with bankers and product specialists across the enterprise to develop customized treasury solutions by identifying solutions based on client-focused cost and benefit analysis and bank-focused profitability analysis.
- Leads pricing and negotiation discussions with the client for treasury management products to optimize relationship profitability and Year over Year (YoY) growth.
- Participates actively in the Client Management Process (CMP), focusing on client relationship development from growth of new client relationships to deepening existing relationship through thoughtful identification of client needs.
- Fosters digital adoption by driving mobile, digital, and real time payments adoption and manages strategic dialogues around key client centric issues, while leveraging best practices, peer benchmarking, industry data analytics, and solutioning positioning.
- Maintains an in-depth client focus, treasury industry expertise, client subsector expertise, and a broad understanding of bank structure.
Requirements:
- Relevant cash and trade sales or relationship management experience within a top tier international/ regional bank.
- Proven track record in managing complex cash and trade deals for multinational corporations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English & Chinese.
- Strong presentation skills, inter-personal and organizational skills, as well as financial skills.
- Knowledge of Corporate Treasury functions.
- Willing to travel cross-regions and within the region.
- Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Excellent critical/strategic thinking and problem resolution skills.
- Successfully demonstrates creative thinking while adhering to guidelines.
- Strong business/financial acumen.
- Effectively manages competing priorities in an organized fashion while maintaining a consistent level of client satisfaction.
