The Team:
Our Trading Assistant teams supports our sales and/or trading desks across all asset classes. The team liaises with traders, trade controls, sales, counterparties, counterparty credit, operations, finance and compliance. This function is also involved in the introduction and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new systems, and process improvements to increase efficiency and enhance controls. This role requires product knowledge of financial instruments relevant to the area supported and across related asset classes.
Role Description:
This role is responsible for maintaining already developed trade control processes, such as trade booking, trade validation, and ongoing trade maintenance and reporting. Key responsibilities include reconciliation of trades between front office risk systems and back office sub ledgers, assisting the front office with trade bookings for a number of derivative products in multiple risk systems. Job expectations include delivering support for new products and initiatives, providing, analysis and Key Performance Indicator/Monetary Instrument Sales reporting.
Responsibilities:
Supports sales and trading desks
Assists the front office with trade booking and ensures trades are captured accurately between front office risk systems and back office ledgers
Develops cross-asset product knowledge by utilizing knowledge of financial instruments accounting
Partners with existing teams globally to achieve the best in class controls and practices in trade support
Negotiates delicate decision points around client on-boarding choices
Performs a liaison function between originators, traders, stakeholders and support partners
Advises Front Office (FO) teams of position adjustments and/or discrepancies
Monitors and processes time sensitive requests relating to trade bookings, settlement issues and/or downstream feeds
Resolves Risk and Profit &Loss (P&L) issues working closely with FO and Risk in a timely manner
Resolves client issues – working with sales and client management teams
Collaborates with TA team members and other stakeholders including traders, COO, trade control, counterparties, operations, finance, and compliance
Fosters relationships across senior business leads and support partners
Participates in various initiatives across both the business and operations with focus on operational efficiency projects

Prior experience in a Trading Assistant role or other Front Office facing role
Trade Operations Management
Familiarity with trade capture, operational processing
Knowledge of documentation and other requirements (regulatory, credit, AML, static data needs) for trading FICC products
Proficiency in MS Excel, Bloomberg and other standard industry platforms
Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with stakeholders
Inquisitive and analytical mindset
Multitasking and resilience to operate successfully in a fast-paced environment
Ability to thrive in a dynamic and team-oriented culture
Skills that will help:
Experience of Interest Rate / Fixed Income products is preferred
Knowledge of current regulatory landscape (SFTR, MiFiD2, EMIR)
