Job Description:
The candidate will report to the head of the Research Investment Committee. The candidate will help produce one of the most widely-read reports in the bank, used by both institutional and private clients to inform their asset allocation and investment decisions. Example themes in some recent work include: value vs. growth, the End of 60/40, passive vs. active equity investing, and the resource needs of artificial intelligence. The candidate will also help maintain and expand our ratings coverage of more than 600 ETFs and closed-end funds.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of a wide variety of asset classes (stocks, bonds, commodities, derivatives, etc.)
- Perform complex financial analysis
- Update and refine financial models
- Write regular reports on market events impacting different asset classes
- Work with Senior Analysts to develop key investment themes
- Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
- Closely follow and understand key markets and industries
- Seek out new, value-added, and/or unusual sources of information
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
- 2+ years of work experience minimum
- MBA and/or progress toward CFA preferred
- Strong writing and spreadsheet skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
- Areas of academic excellence must include finance; should have an understanding of macroeconomics and public policy
- Must enjoy working in databases and websites, and doing desktop and field research
- Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
- Must work well in a collaborative team environment
