VP: Equity Research - Brokers, Asset Managers, & Exchanges

Job Description:

The Brokers, Asset Managers, & Exchanges Research team covers over 30 stocks with high trading volume and strong investor interest. The industry is changing and the team is looking for someone who can analyze the change and anticipate new trends and present them effectively. The ideal candidate will be a recent grade with interest in the sector and markets and/or a candidate with one to three years of experience in markets or focusing on the Financial sector. This candidate will work with both the Senior Analyst and team members in all aspects from idea generation to company meetings, and will play a critical part in providing the financial modeling and qualitative analysis to formulate, publish, and discuss investment opinions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work
  • Write regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratch
  • Develop databases integral to our research product
  • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgment
  • Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes
  • Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies
  • Participate and contribute to client meetings and events
  • Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders
  • Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity
  • Seek out new, unusual sources of information
  • Interact regularly with clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Interest in the financial sector and markets
  • Min 1-3 years of experience focusing on equity research, financial services, buy side, or investment banking
  • Strong writing and modeling skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment
  • Must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research
  • Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politics
  • Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment

New York pay range:

$200,000.00 - $225,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
