Process Overview*

The Global Information Security (GIS) is responsible for protecting Bank information systems, confidential and proprietary data, and customer information. The Application Management and Continous Delivery (AMCD) team operates as an Agile Service team.  We offer a set of services to CST and/or GIS as a whole, some more internally focused, some externally. It identifies and addresses vulnerabilities, Capacity scoping and planning for new infrastructure, Review/revision/expansion of MRDs, monitoring approaches based on the AMCD Policy and performs deployements through CI/CD

Bank of America is seeking a highly motivated L3 DevOps engineer to join our Global Information Security team.  Candidate should be comfortable working with development teams to identify potential issues in both development and production environments. This person will join an agile service team focused on daily production service delivery and application deployment, taking a key role in Deployments, infrastructure planning, engineering, environment design and management for commercial and custom software applications.

Responsibilities*

This person will join an agile service team focused on daily production service delivery and application deployment, taking a key role in infrastructure planning, engineering, environment design and management for commercial and custom software applications.

You will be an individual contributor responsible for researching, implementing, and supporting complex IT engineering tasks as a part of an agile Engineering Services team.  Your tasks will include:

•                Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems.

•                Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade operating systems, hardware and software interfaces.

•                Apply an understanding of network fundamentals and security best practices with the ability to understand how the infrastructure communicates as a low level and how the system functions at a high level.

•                Must have a troubleshooting/problem solving mindset

B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)

7-8 years

 Foundational skills*

•                A strong understanding and experience with containers and OpenShift or Dockers

•                Experience using CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Ansible, Subversion, Git, JIRA and Confluence

•                Production engineering/operations experience (minimum 5-7 years)

•                Strong experience as a Windows server Systems Admin/Engineer with the ability to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis in a complex environment.

•                Strong experience supporting and managing Web Based applications using IIS

•                Strong Experience using and setting up monitoring tools for monitoring health and performance of Web based applications. (ITRS, Nagios, SiteScope, Foglight, Splunk, Dynatrace) 

•                Familiarity with MS-SQL, Oracle and familiarity how to perform basic queries if needed.

•                Experience in supporting infrastructure in a large enterprise environment

•                Good understanding of Change and Incident Management processes

•                Understanding of Agile projects, roles, and development support

•                Be able to run and bring to completion multiple competing projects.

•                Detail oriented work ethic.

•                Aptitude to independently learn new technologies

•                Strong written & verbal skills combined with a passion for collaboration and teamwork.

 Desired skills

•                Background in Red Hat Linux administration a major plus

•                Scripting and automation with Visual Basic, Perl, python or PowerShell in a DevOps environment

•                Experience with patching of Windows servers and hosted applications.

•                Good understanding of various protocols such as http/https/tcp/smtp/snmp/dns
