Job Description

This job is responsible for the day-to-day resolution of complex problems and the research and execution of complex transactions for a single site/business unit or smaller business unit(s). Key responsibilities include strategically advising upon the design, development, and implementation of products, systems, and services using discretion within the project management methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Advises on the design, development, and implementation of complex products, systems, and services in an operations environment using discretionary judgment

  • Advises on projects and directs activities of a team related to special initiatives

  • Advises as a technical expert in assigned area, providing an understanding of the business unit's operations processes and implications on other groups within the operations function

  • Consults on present-state, develops alternative future-state approaches, and facilitates implementations by creating a clear and coherent approach to guide effective program/initiative setup, execution, and control

  • Promote team collaboration and  leadership to deliver on key priorities meeting tight deadlines

  • Support user acceptance testing and production check out requirements

  • Monitor/Support/Supervise production area, administrative duties, including control reporting, job aides and records filing

  • Support all audits, assessments and exams, and procedure intakes as applicable

  • Support management routines, Invoice Processing, Business Continuity

  • Other administrative duties, as assigned

  • Work flexibility, including overtime, weekends

  • Identifies and recommends responsibilities and accountabilities for key programs/projects

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, in-office

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience within Operations environment with a financial institution

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience > 5 years

  • Knowledge of cheque payment processes and Canadian clearing systems/rules and reconciliation

  • Ability to execute tasks assigned with exceptional quality and accuracy

  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and keyboarding skills

  • Ability to write procedures and desktop job aids

  • Strives to bring new thoughts and ideas to teams in order to drive innovation and unique solutions

  • Excels in working among diverse viewpoints to determine the best path forward

  • Commitment to challenging the status quo and promoting positive change

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Familiar with Payments Canada Rules and Regulations for Cheque processing (ACSS/AUSS)

  • High-volume production background and management experience an asset

  • Working knowledge of key Wholesale Lockbox Operations functions and capabilities an asset

  • Experience in financial services preferred
