About the LOB

The Global Markets Technology group within the Global Banking and Markets Technology division. The group is responsible for delivery of a wide range of technology solutions which support Middle and Back Office markets operations for the firm, across securities, derivatives, foreign exchange, futures, options and commodities products.

You will be joining the Futures & Options AMRS or EMEA team within Cleared Derivatives and Collateral Technology. This is a long-established team with experienced professionals which forms part of Futures & Options Technology globally.

Job Description:

This job is responsible for developing and delivering complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Key responsibilities of the job include ensuring that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, and solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Job expectations include a strong knowledge of development and testing practices common to the industry and design and architectural patterns.

LOB Job Description:

  • Responsible for end-to-end management and delivery of a material change for a project of high complexity across multiple departments across multiple business units. Manages, leads and directs the work efforts of resources that may be functionally aligned as part of the project and/or organizationally aligned as direct reports. Responsible for the end-to-end integration of various work streams in order to deliver the intended project solution. Responsibilities include: Manage Project Scope, Timeline and Budget/Expenses; obtain and align resources to key project roles; establish clearly defined responsibilities and accountabilities; oversight/Manage/Lead project execution, integration and implementation; Risk Management and Mitigation Planning; Readiness / Change Adoption/Stakeholder Management; Quality Assurance, ensure that all applicable change requirements are satisfied; Acts as the primary point of contact and integration for the project; Acts as a Programme Manager if required on an interim basis; Ability to represent / deputise senior project stakeholders where required
  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) for the GMI application from FIS. This includes troubleshooting operational issues and providing guidance to developers.
  • Provide project management skills for the initiation of a project to look at NextGen products to replace the GMI application. This will require documenting existing GMI workarounds, GMI modules used and their deficiencies, operational wish lists, Data Taxonomy, and other documentation needs. This will be done with the assistance of other internal GMI SME.

Responsibilities:

  • Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
  • Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
  • Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI-CD) practices and automating tool stack
  • Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
  • Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
  • Automates manual release activities
  • Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of applicable experience
  • Must have experience with GMI (Geldermann Management Inc) System.
    • This is a legacy AS400 system that was sold to SunGard Systems and then to FIS
  • Experience in AS400 systems with programing in RPG
  • Project management experience in business development, conversions, and system mergers
  • Excellent understanding of project management basics
  • Ability to drive consensus and/or decisions on issues to deliver timely results
  • Partner with F&O Business, F&O Marketing, Client Solutions and Operations Stakeholders as required to understand the core needs and asks from each team
  • Be a specialist in GMI processing system supporting global exchanges with emphasis on regulatory requirements and operational processing procedures
  • Solutions focused for strategic and innovative delivery of project initiatives and problem resolution

Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
