Associate - Equity Research: Health Care Facilities and Managed Care

Job Description:

The Health Care Facilities and Managed Care team covers 30-listed companies across a broad range of industries and subsectors within the health care services sector including health insurance, hospitals, home health, and value-based care, among others.

The team is looking for someone with 1-4 years of work experience, who has a strong interest in equity markets and wants to learn the Health Care Facilities & Managed Care sector, has experience with financial modeling and quantitative analysis, has strong writing skills, and effectively communicates investment ideas to internal stakeholders and investor clients.   The role does not require a medical or science background.

This role supports the team in all aspects from idea generation, financial modeling, participating in company meetings and communicating with other research teams, sales, trading, financial advisors, company management, investor clients and policy experts. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex financial modeling & valuation work.
  • Write regular industry and company reports and in-depth company initiations from scratch.
  • Develop databases integral to our research product.
  • Demonstrate strong industry knowledge, including healthcare policy and reimbursement landscape.
  • Work with Senior Analysts to develop key industry themes.
  • Build relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companies.
  • Participate and contribute to client meetings and events.
  • Attend meetings and interact with key opinion leaders.  
  • Closely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity.
  • Seek out new, unusual sources of information.
  • Leverage our robust network of industry contacts.
  • Interact regularly with sales, trading, and external clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 1-4 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, buy-side investing, accounting.
  • Strong writing and modeling skills. Must be an expert at MS Word and MS Excel
  • Must enjoy following the stock market and doing desktop and field research.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced and intense environment.
  • Along with Finance and Accounting, should have understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, and policy/politics.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task.
  • Must work well in a collaborative team environment.

New York pay range:

$70,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
