Job Description:
This role is responsible for providing support within Risk and Business Control Function for issue management, process improvement and data governance routines. It offers a great opportunity for professional growth through participating in various assignments and initiatives within APAC Global Banking Operations. Exposure to cross-functional teams, operational risk management, regulatory compliance, project management, governance framework. Career development in risk governance, process management, audit issue management, project management, reporting and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities:

Issue Management

  • Collaborate and partner with Risk Leads to ensure clear, accurate issue intake and closure documentation are submitted and uploaded to the system of record timely for the issue lifecycle management.
  • Participate and support in risk and control assessment, root cause analysis and gather inputs from stakeholders to understand reasons behind issues. Proactive identification of potential risk and develop action plans from analysis findings.
  • Provide support to prepare, consolidate, and analyze reports, for issue management tracker and routine. Regularly review and update the issue log to maintain visibility.
  • Facilitate meetings and track issue progress to ensure rigor in the end-to-end issue management lifecycle for GTMO issue management portfolio.
  • Support in the continuous improvement in the issue management practice and routine.

Process Management

  • Provide ongoing support to process owners and their delegates in accurate documentation of Single Process Inventory (SPI) processes, risks, controls, and metrics.
  • Support implementation of changes driven by evolution of Process Management policy and standards along with reporting on the implementation status.
  • Facilitate SPI meetings and information sharing between key stakeholders and Global Business Control partners.
  • Help with governance materials, reporting and other presentations, as and when required.

Data Governance

  • Participate in Data Governance initiatives/reviews driven by evolution of Data Management policy and standards.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Risk Leads and Global Treasury & Merchant Operations (GTMO) Data Incident Management Governance Lead to facilitate review of data incidents.
  • Support in data management targeted assessment, pre-audit readiness/look-back reviews, gather inputs from stakeholders and proactive identification of potential risk and develop action plans from analysis findings.
  • Maintain well documented data governance deliverables, routines to maintain visibility and rigor. Help with governance materials, reporting and other presentations, as and when required.

Skills:

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience in banking industry.
  • Prior experience and good understanding of risk management principles and control framework will be an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Good analytical, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills to analyze data, identify trends and understand root cause of issues.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders and geographies.
  • Project management skills will be beneficial.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage deliverable timeline.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while also being a team player.
  • Proficient in using data or relevant software applications and tools.
