Role Description:
This is a key leadership role within Global Valuation Group (GVG) and reports to the Global Head of GVG at Bank of America. Working as part of the wider Global Banking and Markets CFO team based in London, you will be part of a team of senior individuals who oversee valuation control issues for the entirety of Bank of America.
This role requires an experienced, dynamic and confident leader who can work across teams and functions leveraging existing relationships. You will be responsible to drive engagement with Regulators and Audit and to lead initiatives and develop/propose solutions to valuation control issues and governance matters.
Responsibilities:
Provide guidance on valuation control policy and regulatory matters. Review and update the valuation control policy and guideline to ensure compliance and accurate interpretation of regulatory requirement
Lead initiatives and develop/propose solutions to valuation control issues and governance matters
Development of appropriate governance, framework, and metrics for effective compliance with policies and regulatory expectations pertaining to valuation control
Ensure timely remediation of regulatory matters requiring attention, audit findings and associated reporting demands
Drive engagement across Finance on regulatory and audit issues and coordinate globally across Finance, Market Risk, Model Risk and Front Office
What we are looking for:
Previous large, complex financial services organization experience performing valuation control / risk management / product control
Excellent understanding of current global and regulatory standards and developments pertaining to valuations of financial instruments
Experience with regulatory and audit interaction from a control and governance perspective, and ability to provide guidance on implementing appropriate controls
Extensive experience in people management as well as prior experience influencing and collaborating with Senior stakeholders across functions/divisions
Adaptability to changing circumstances is crucial; prioritization of responsibilities will need to evolve accordingly
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and proven influencing and negotiation skills
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree is highly preferred
