Role Description:

Global Fixed Income Operations are the primary interface to our fixed income and securities trading partners for all post-trade operations. GFIO performs end to end trade control, confirmation and settlements processes across fixed incomes businesses, securities, and loan trading.  EMEA Fixed Income Operations are responsible post-trade activities (trades processing, clearing and settlement) within Global Markets Operations and provide cross-functional support to Global Markets Lines of Business including, Repo, Rates, Credit, Mortgages, Frontier Markets (LCT) businesses.  The department offers operational support and expertise to Sales and Trading Desks as a team of specialists responsible for the implementation of client trade allocations, exception management, breaks reconciliation, clearing and settlement. Internal business partners include Front Office (Sales/ Trading/ COO), Technology, Compliance, Global Markets Transformation & Change, and other Operations teams.  Associates engage with external clients, providing dedicated support for Platinum clients, acting as primary operations point of contact for client queries, escalations, and facilitation of settlement. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with trading, sales and clients, technology & settlement teams globally to optimise settlement rates reduce fails/ break
  • Ad hoc queries from traders/sales/clients
  • Identification and implementation of process improvements, working independently or partnership with technology for delivery
  • Input into and support of strategic work, regulatory change and supporting projects that impact the team.  Responsible for program requirements, test scripts, UAT, and go live monitoring
  • Employing networking skills to manage your relationships with clients, the trading desks, settlement agents, operations relationship managers, middle office representatives and technology teams
  • Employs interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Liaising with other internal departments to ensure timely resolution of Client inquiries and break resolution

What we are looking for:

  • Ensure the allocation & settlement of securities for European markets on behalf of clients or the trading desks, taking the necessary action to ensure resolution of all failing trades
  • Ensuring teamwork towards meeting quarterly fails targets.
  • Escalation of potential risk and exposure to your manager timely and efficiently
  • Teamwork ethos: partnership and providing coverage for team members when required.
  • Monitor shared inbox to ensure all queries responded to within agreed SLA
  • Significant control and risk management mindset
  • Comfortable working with people at all organizational levels.
