Location Overview:
Our London office is based just a stone’s throw from the magnificent St. Paul’s Cathedral on bustling King Edward Street. Here you’ll find modern workspaces and a state-of-the-art auditorium space. The Team:
The wider Equities - Prime Financing team comprises around 40 dedicated Product Controllers across our Chester and London locations who together support the broad array of businesses which make up this key component of our Equities markets franchise. The team range from newly graduated individuals starting their chartered accountancy qualifications through to fully Chartered accountants with up to 20 years of industry experience.
The role offers fantastic exposure, not only within Equities Finance across our locations, but it also provides varied and interesting interaction with a range of other stakeholders across the bank and the opportunity to be a key business partner for front office.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities as part of Global Markets CFO supporting EMEA Equities- Prime Financing as London Lead:
Deputising for London based EMEA Prime Financing CFO and Chester based Swaps and Prime Product Leads and assisting in supporting, coaching and development of the broader Prime Financing team.
Building strong local business engagement at a Business Head level to support all aspects of BFC:
Control oversight on new products and initiatives by Trading Desks
Working with Front Office to explain and challenge their P&L and Valuations metrics
Significant transaction reviews
Business initiative partnership
Representing Prime Financing with senior stakeholders across Legal Entity Control, Accounting Policy, Enterprise Capital Management, Regulatory Reporting, Liquidity and Treasury
Continuous focus on challenging and improving controls, processes, applications and data sources across the team.
Lead role in supervisory review and governance processes and ownership of a range of SEC and Regulatory disclosures.
Supporting the team in aspects of P&L and Balance Sheet substantiation and delivery of financial metrics regarding business performance to senior management.
Collaborate across the team/s on projects and initiatives
Production and monitoring of Daily and Monthly KPI’s
What we are looking for:
Ability to review, debate and challenge “the work”
Lead by example and set high controls standards for the team
Strong analytical and communication skills (both written and verbal to senior stakeholders)
Ability to respond appropriately to time-sensitive requests
Professional Qualification preferable
Exposure to Equity products
Proven experience of providing process improvements
