Organization Overview: 
Global Risk Analytics (GRA) and Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) are sub-lines of business within Global Risk Management (GRM). Collectively, they are responsible for developing a consistent and coherent set of models, analytical tools, and tests for effective risk and capital measurement, management and reporting across Bank of America. GRA and EIT partner with the Lines of Business and Enterprise functions to ensure the capabilities it builds address both internal and regulatory requirements, and are responsive to the changing nature of portfolios, economic conditions, and emerging risks. In executing its activities, GRA and EIT drive innovation, process improvement and automation.  

Team Overview:
The Enterprise Independent Testing organization within Global Risk Management has an opportunity for a Senior Analyst role within the Sampling Methodology and Oversight (SMO) team. SMO is highly specialized in data analytics and sampling and provides specialty oversight and consulting services across EIT teams involved in data sourcing and sampling activities, as well as business partners outside EIT. Working with a team of highly skilled professionals, you become part of an experienced and dedicated team that is committed to providing quantitative and statistical analysis to Senior Management on the highly visible Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) team.    

Job Description:
Candidate is expected to have expertise in business or risk analytics, sampling methodologies or exploratory data analysis, programming, and analytical reporting. Candidate will work in a collaborative environment but is expected to take initiatives to independently uncover risk issues and drive resolution across multi-functional partners.
 

Role Overview:
The Senior Analyst Role’s responsibilities include:

  • Play a critical role in implementing and improving the EIT sampling methodologies commensurate with the risk and control profile across various business lines and product portfolios. Focuses on sampling effectiveness and efficiency

  • Assist senior management in installing proactive sampling controls surrounding test data sourcing and sampling. Provides ongoing sampling oversight support and analysis

  • Provide independent evaluation and/or consultation on sampling practices and data sourcing process. Validate the current risk and compliance procedures and identify probable gaps and issues in the existing procedures

  • Identify potential areas for process improvement or upgrade and proposes actionable resolution

  • Drive remediation plans so that any deficiencies identified will be addressed properly by responsible parties. Tracks and reports on remediation activities for performance metrics

  • Provide analytical or quality assurance (QA) support to other EIT priorities and initiatives to address critical or urgent risk issues   

  • Deliver to high volumes and/or fast-paced production targets with productivity and accuracy 

Required Education & Experience:

  • Post-Graduate degree in an analytical focused subject, e.g. Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Business Management with a quantitative concentration

  • 3+ years of experience with business or risk analytics

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical thinking and quantitative/qualitative skills 

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in data sciences/analytics and sampling techniques

  • Strong coding skills in one of Bank’s common programming languages, e.g. SQL, Python, VBA, Tableau or SAS. High proficiency with Excel pivot tables, formulas and/or Macros.

  • Deliver high-quality results under pressure and in a fast-paced or changing environment. Strong project and/or pipeline management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management

  • Self-starter and problem solver

  • Applies critical thinking and connects the dots on how processes relate to one another

  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability for delivering high quality work, able to prioritize effectively, adapt, and meet strict deadlines 

  • Sees opportunities, risks, and connections while engaging with others across different functions and connecting the dots across the organization

Illinois pay range:

$76,000.00 - $108,600.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
