Job Description - India Economist:

As an India Economist, you will be working closely with the Head of India and ASEAN economic research and assist in writing research and macroeconomic forecasting of India’s economy. The scope of the work may widen to ASEAN, depending on prior experience. The research will focus on tracking the macroeconomic environment and its implications for investments in equity, interest rate and foreign exchange markets.

You will work in close conjunction across the broader research team both domestically and globally. You will be primarily involved with compiling and analyzing economic data, quantitative analysis, economic forecasting, ad hoc client requests, regular contributions to written research, and interactions with both internal and external clients. The position is located in Mumbai.

Required Experience:

  • Master or Ph.D. degree in Economics or Finance
  • Preferably 4+ years working as a macro analyst/economist
  • High level written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with quantitative analysis and database management. Proficiency in data programing/modeling is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines, with high level of initiative and motivation
  • Experience with econometric software as well as data and news services including Bloomberg, Haver and CEIC
