Role Description:
The Social and Environmental Governance Team in EMEA is based in London and is made up of 8 full-time team members. The team is responsible for driving Social and Environment risk & regulatory advisory, philanthropy. The arts and environment engagement across the EMEA region, coordinating closely with colleagues across other international markets (APAC and LATAM).

This role would work closely with the International Head of Social and Environment group, and the Head of Philanthropy for EMEA to support the day to day operations of the team and the annual process of grant-making in the region.
Responsibilities:
- This role leads on the business support required for International Social and Governance team, including supporting the EMEA grant making process, as part of the bank’s Foundation presence in the region.
- This will include: supporting not-for-profits with applications for funding, processing and information flow with colleagues in the US; processing grant applications through Cybergrants platform (online grant-making system) and supporting partners with due diligence; assisting in the creation of materials for the EMEA Philanthropy Board; helping with process of monitoring impact made by grant beneficiaries against their objectives.
- The Business Manager role also has a strong focus on content management, grant operations (see above), data organization, and presentation development.
- Responsibilities will include: developing business presentations and client materials and managing data and op-ex needs of the team, responding to the management team for materials for board entities and Ex-Co meetings. Keeping a data repository of approved materials and responses to E,S &G inquiries.
- In addition, the role will be responsible for preparing education materials in partnership with other LOBs (e.g., risk) and other informational content (e.g, country and line of business environment and social plans, country fact sheets).
- This role will assist with planning leadership routines across the international team – including international town halls, agenda development, meeting materials, as well as scheduling and tracking.
What we are looking for:
- Extensive experience in business support and developing business materials
- An interest in social and environmental issues and an understanding for the business rationale driving the social and environment agenda
- Ability to take large amounts of information/data and synthesize it into a cohesive, actionable storyline
- Demonstrated history of strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and communicate across all levels of the management
- Highly organized with critical thinking abilities at both the strategic and tactical levels
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-starter and team player
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic working environment
- Adaptable and flexible approach to the working day
- Strong Excel skills, PowerPoint presentations and data management system
Skills that will help (optional):
- Experience and/or understanding of the banking industry and / or ESG role advantageous
- Advanced Excel skills, PowerPoint presentations and data management system
- Strong and demonstrated writing skills
- Experience with monitoring & evaluation/impact data collection
- Grant-making experience/experience with a grant-making platform (i.e. Cybergrants)
