Job Description:

The MAPS FICC Electronic Trading team is a horizontal function managing application support routines across the FICC Electronic Trading Systems organization. The team approach is one of collaboration and will work closely with the MAPS APAC Rates Team as well as other MAPS teams globally including teams in EMEA, AMRS and India to support the APAC Rates Electronic Trading franchise.

The team has regular direct contact with multiple Rates trading business located in APAC and will have the opportunity to interact with traders, salespeople, business management (COO), application development teams and multiple infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing high class support to end-users for all electronic trading issues
  • Ownership and delivery of on-boarding support of or processes into the MAPS organization
  • Provide professional support with domestic Japanese clients to support client onboarding
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with business stakeholders, application development teams and infrastructure contacts
  • Monitoring of critical trading system environments
  • Troubleshooting system issues in a high demand environment
  • Proactive identification and resolution of problem hotspots
  • Identification of stability issues and owning/driving improvements
  • Tracking of support effort to enable effective issue hotspot reporting
  • Release implementation and enforcement of change management policy
  • Incident Management and Problem Management
  • Productivity Improvement - Identifying opportunities to simplify and improve processes

Required Skills

Required:

  • Experience with exchange connectivity and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the main client B2C (e.g. Tradeweb, Bloomberg) and interdealer D2D markets (e.g. MTS) software
  • Knowledge of the Rates eTrading business – Products, flows, Pricing, RFQs trading principles
  • Understanding of Infrastructure disciplines (networking, server, storage, messaging)
  • Enterprise Monitoring – ITRS Geneos, Splunk
  • Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency essential
  • Operating systems – Linux primarily - ability to navigate the operating system
  • Performed in a role that demonstrates application of the key ITIL principles Incident, Problem, Service Request and Event Management etc.
  • SQL (intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results, stored procedures)
  • Job scheduling (Autosys, Crontab)
  • Resilience – must be resilient and confident working in a high pressure Front Office trading environment
  • Professional spoken and written business level Japanese and English proficiency

Required business expertise would include:

  • Product knowledge – Preferably a Rates eTrading subject matter expert with a demonstrated history of supporting the following: Request for Quote flows, Government Bonds, Agency and Supranational Bonds, Interest Rates Futures, Interest Rates Swaps, Inflation-linked Bonds
  • Pricing/Valuation knowledge yield curves, funding curves, bond and swap pricing
  • Interdealer (D2D) and Client (B2C) markets connectivity and flows
  • End-to-end knowledge of different trade-lifecycles (e.g. a client negotiation, order placed on interdealer market)

Desired Skills:

  • Scripting languages: Unix Shell, Python
  • FIX protocol
  • Awareness of the regulatory environment (in particular MiFID II)
  • Splunk / AppDynamics
