Job Description:

Through examinations and monitoring, Credit Review provides an independent assessment of the quality of credit decisioning, portfolio management, risk recognition practices and the effectiveness of credit processes across the bank’s credit platform, identifies existing and emerging risks, and reports its findings to various stakeholders, including executive management, the Board of Directors or committee thereof, external auditors and regulatory agencies.

This job is responsible for establishing and executing a risk-based coverage plan to monitor the global renewable energy portfolio within the large corporate credit portfolios within Enterprise Credit. Key responsibilities include serving as a subject matter expert in Credit Review, developing and executing a risk-based coverage plan to monitor and examine the portfolio, and performing and reviewing transactional testing of credit process execution controls of new and existing clients to evaluate appropriateness of client selection, adherence to underwriting expectations, quality of ongoing monitoring and risk rating accuracy to proactively identify emerging risks and their impact on portfolio credit quality. This role includes providing updates to business leaders and executive management on continuous testing and examination results, new issues, and emerging risks.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the global renewable energy portfolio of loans, oversees the execution of Credit Review’s coverage plan and may participate in examination activities

  • Performs transactional testing of credit process execution of new and existing clients, and provides direct and timely feedback on transactional reviews performed by others

  • Provides regulatory updates on results, and responds to inquiries

  • Documents findings through quarterly reporting, including assessing and rating credit control effectiveness, direction of controls, and credit riskiness for the specific portfolio(s)

  • Assesses and advises on the impact of industry-level, geo-political, and economic trends to credit portfolios

  • Manages issues, including approval of issue severity ratings, action plans, ongoing issue status tracking, and oversight of issue validation

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of commercial credit experience (credit review, direct lending, workout, risk management and/or regulatory)

  • Experience in project finance and/or renewable energy

  • Ability to support conclusions through fact-based analysis and ability to influence senior leaders

  • Excellent credit analysis, project management and leadership skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks while delivering high quality results
