Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing the end-to-end hiring process which includes understanding business needs, developing and executing a sourcing strategy, screening/interviewing candidates, and offering extensions. Key responsibilities include partnering with senior leaders within the business and across Human Resources (HR) to achieve hiring objectives for assigned business units and execute on approved openings.

As a recruiter for Merrill you will be an integral part of implementing the strategic vision by creating strategies that identify, attract, engage and secure top talent in the Wealth Management industry.  As a member of the team you will create proactive, high-touch approaches that build diverse talent networks and create brand awareness in the external talent community. You will work with the Merrill leadership team to connect with talented individuals whose expertise and experiences will influence and support Merrill’s talent strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts intake sessions with hiring managers to understand the business needs and manages requisition workbench within the applicant tracking system

  • Creates a pipeline of candidates with desired skills by developing and executing a sourcing strategy, cold calling, and candidate assessment through in-depth phone screens/interviews to identify, attract, and recruit suitable talent

  • Coordinates the interview process with hiring managers and business leaders and provides feedback from screening interviews to prepare hiring managers

  • Facilitates creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace by ensuring that the hiring process leverages a pool of candidates with varied backgrounds and experiences

  • Ensures compliance with all legal aspects of recruiting and candidate selection including applicable federal and state recruitment regulations including The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission

  • Drive recruiting efforts for senior internal and external talent for Merrill Wealth Management

  • Create an informed, consultative talent strategy based on targeted research, industry/market and candidate data

  • Partner with executives and HR partners to determine current and future executive talent acquisition needs

  • Develop influential partnerships with hiring managers, internal recruiting partners, and business partners

  • Communicate and collaborate with business partners and stakeholders across the company

  • Work closely with business executives, HR Executive and peers to map target companies organizational structures

  • Develop and negotiate complex competitive offer packages

  • Uphold strict confidentiality specific to talent planning, succession planning and organizational design

  • Establish effective executive search methodologies and best practices

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years professional level recruiting managing search and selection process for executive level roles

  • Strong understanding of current competitive talent landscape

  • Demonstrated experience understanding executive compensation appropriately competitive offers

  • Proven ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, facilitation, client service orientation, leadership

  • Demonstrated expertise in development of sourcing strategies and cold calling

  • Strong client management experience with solid credibility, presence and the ability to influence executives and provide consultative services

  • Experience providing fact based and candid assessments of talent and making clear recommendations

  • Use of innovative techniques to meet the staffing needs of the business while taking a broad perspective on strategic sourcing to meet workforce needs

  • Proven experience managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously, strong prioritization/time management skills, self-directed/result-oriented

  • Demonstrates flexibility and thrives in a fast-paced, action oriented environment; ability to juggle long term goals and short-term deliverables

  • Previous experience developing concise and effective presentations

  • Strong communication (both written and oral) skills

  • Must maintain and exude strong sense of urgency and integrity

Desired Qualifications

  • Current executive level recruiting experience in the Wealth Management industry

  • Previous leadership experience

  • BA/BS degree in business, communications, human resources or related discipline and/or equivalent work experience
