Job Description:

Our Leveraged Finance Credit business represents Enterprise Credit in the leveraged finance acquisition underwriting process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of deal teams involving leveraged finance credit, investment banking, and capital markets to underwrite non-investment grade acquisition financing transactions
  • Analyzes client's financial performance by comparing it to past performance, projections, and industry standards
  • Reviews financial statements
  • Assists in the underwriting and credit risk analysis of new transactions or existing transactions, while adhering to all relevant policies and procedures
  • Builds projection models based on historical performance, industry forecasts, and other due diligence findings
  • Trains, coaches, and mentors Credit Analysts
  • Evaluate, analyze and assess corporate mergers, acquisitions and leveraged buyout transactions
  • Review and analyze underwriting materials, such as: financial statements, presentations, projections, Quality of Earnings, Credit Ratings and other third-party reports
  • Acquire understanding of new businesses and industries in a short period of time
  • Identify and define key credit risks and weigh them against relevant mitigants
  • Conduct due diligence with clients
  • Present analysis of risks and associated mitigants to senior leaders in credit approval committees
  • Contribute to and create approval documents for the initial acquisition finance underwriting
  • Other projects as assigned, such as: reports synthesizing risk exposure statistics, market data over time, and reports on recently announced transactions

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience working in investment banking or capital markets
  • Financial analysis of public, private and non-traditional financial statements, presentations and projections
  • Business acumen to identify key credit risks and variables to sensitize and diligence with the client
  • Financial forecasting and modeling
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail to challenge client forecasting assumptions and identify credit concerns
  • Advanced decision making for underwriting and stress case modeling
  • Written communication to succinctly explain and document the various assumptions made in the model by the client and EC as well as analysis of quarterly financial performance

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or another related field
  • 2 years’ experience or MBA for Associate level role
