Job Description:
This job is responsible for leading the most complex technical designs that enable business strategies in accordance with architectural governance, standards and policies. Key responsibilities include facilitating deployment of the most complex technical solutions by developing templates, playbooks and automation used during implementation. Job expectations include consistently looking for opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency of implementing the services, and influencing a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Data Network Engineer supports initiatives as they transition between design, implementation, and operations. They are active in all phases as an SME to support, solve program and facilitates decision making. The goal is to help the orderly and timely execution of projects and initiatives in an optimal, strategic, and low risk way.
  • Role performs Q/A function prior to every implementation project. Reviews a design and understands how it is based upon standards and how it matches to the “commission” details (installation, turn-up).
  • Conducts technology assessments.
  • Focuses on managing the design and implementation of new technology solutions.
  • Provides design and detailed consulting as network subject matter expert. Deliver design proposals/budget and scopes for all requests.
  • Works with the Architecture and Product Engineering teams to develop, review, communicate, and revise network standards.
  • Performs large scale network planning; plans, designs and network projects via technical processes, standards, and governance as they relate to network engineering activities.
  • Technical areas of focus include but are not limited to WAN/MAN, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, Load Balancers, LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, NAC, QoS, CAC, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, Multicast, NHRP, IPv4, IPv6, MPLS, ACL, VPN, Building Wireless/Wi-Fi solutions (802.xx) with Aruba and carrier “in-building wireless services (DAS) etc.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 14 to 16 years’ experience required in Networking-related disciplines in design, operate and implementation services
  • Candidate must display knowledge in network sizing, QOS, NAC, CAC, and COS traffic classifications. Must have the ability to provide bandwidth requirement calculations
  • Design, Implementation, Support Data Center SDN; ACI/NSX, Arista CloudVision
  • Design, Implementation, Support SDWAN is required, preferred if on Cloudgenix
  • Strong skills in Scripting required; Python, Ansible, PowerShell
  • Strong Automation Skills – Expect, Rancid, REST/SOAP
  • Strong CISCO NSO experience
  • Experience in process re-engineering and work styles such as ITIL, Six Sigma, MOF/MSF, etc
  • Must have extensive knowledge and experience using (both proactive and reactive) advanced tooling. Inclusive of but not limited to Sniffer/wire Shark, Prognosis, Scripting, SolarWinds, HP NA/OpsWare/OpenView, etc
  • Ability to assemble professional documents based on existing templates, ability to provide accurate work descriptions with needed hours for completion, assumptions, and caveats
  • Must understand project delivery lifecycle management, the concept of a detailed design, Test, and certification methodologies, back-out and validation plans and procedures

Jersey City pay range:

$150,000 - $190,700 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
