Team Overview
Global Risk Analytics (GRA) and Enterprise Independent Testing (EIT) are sub-lines of business within Global Risk Management (GRM). Collectively, they are responsible for developing a consistent and coherent set of models, analytical tools, and tests for effective risk and capital measurement, management and reporting across Bank of America. GRA and EIT partner with the Lines of Business and Enterprise functions to ensure the capabilities they build address both internal and regulatory requirements, and are responsive to the changing nature of portfolios, economic conditions, and emerging risks. In executing their activities, GRA and EIT drive innovation, process improvement and automation.
Role Overview
The Data Quality Testing Manager is accountable for the Global Liquidity Management data quality testing portfolio and oversees all aspects of the testing life cycle including test development, test execution, and results aggregation/dissemination. This role entails managing a portfolio of tests used to provide timely, useful, and actionable independent insight on the operational health of Bank of America’s processes. This role is essential to the Bank achieving its commitment to process excellence and provides a unique opportunity to shape how the Bank manages its operational risk.
We are seeking candidates with expertise in process and operational excellence, with a desired focus / specialization in financial products and / or regulatory reporting. The Data Quality Testing Manager collaborates with process owners in the Front-Line Units and Control Functions (FLUs/CFs) to understand their processes, identify risks to successful execution, and prioritize/plan for the development of methodologies (e.g., models, analytical tools, and testing scripts) used to evaluate data quality.
This role requires partnering effectively with Front Line Units and Global Compliance Operational Risk (GCOR), as well as various teams within GRA/EIT who provide operational, data sourcing, and technology infrastructure support. The outputs of the methodologies will be used to drive process improvements and timely detection of errors.
The Data Quality Testing Manager provides data testing oversight, resource management, and escalation/resolution of test execution issues, as needed, to ensure timely, complete, and seamless execution of data quality tests
The role requires critical thinking and willingness to dig into the details of both existing and new methodologies to ensure they are fit for purpose. The candidate must be a strong communicator and able to effectively explain the rationale and details of the methodologies to a broad set of audiences that include key senior stakeholders across the Bank, as well as auditors and regulators.
Job Description:
The Sampling and Test Development Manager assists with the development, maintenance, quality assessment and sample execution of tests. This role ensures that testing comprehensively covers key requirements of applicable laws, rules, and regulations and is accountable for ensuring we are leveraging automation in all work under development. The Sampling & Test Development Manager may contribute as a manager responsible for providing leadership direction to attract, assess, develop, motivate and retain a small team, or may act as an individual contributor. This role may manage Sampling or Test Development, Quality Review, Sample Execution or a combination of these disciplines.
Key responsibilities:
The Sampling & Test Development Manager is responsible for implementing and driving the data acquisition strategy for the Testing Control and Sampling Environment and/or overseeing with the development and maintenance of quality tests. The role may also have responsibility for quality reviews or the delivery of samples for execution. This role ensures the function accurately and effectively measures and monitors the delivery of quality tests and samples follows all requirements of EIT standards, policies, and procedures. This role may also assist in developing and updating routines, strategies and operational guidelines for overall use by Independent Testing and our partners. This role partners with the Chief Testing Officer and other EIT functional leads to effectively define a data acquisition strategy and sampling environment, obtain requirements to design efficient and comprehensive tests, and maintain quality standards throughout the process.
This role may manage different levels of staff with varying technical backgrounds and must ensure that team has the necessary skills to complete the functions assigned. Responsibilities of the role also include ensuring consistent quality of activities, processes and outputs by establishing effective review practices across teams.
