Job Description:

This job is responsible for driving accurate, complete, and timely delivery of data. Key responsibilities include working with business stakeholders and technology teams to direct commercial banking data management activities and ensure availability for use by appropriate consumers. Job expectations include managing execution within the enterprise data management standards, data quality, and control practices.

The Data Manager will be part of the ECATS Regulatory Change team which is responsible for the oversight and management of regulatory exams and issues, oversight and remediation of regulatory and risk initiatives, and oversight and management of regulatory reporting changes. This position requires close working relationships with teams internal to ECATS, EC Business Control team, Technology support partners, other business Data Management teams, Global Banking Operations/Credit Process teams, Global Compliance Operational Risk, Audit, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Line of Business partners, including Compliance, Audit, and Risk to understand needs and produce data solutions, often in partnership with Technology
  • Identifies gaps in data management standards adherence and works with appropriate partners to develop plans for resolution, including recommendations so that relevant risk and compliance policies and standards are met
  • Analyzes emerging needs for data to address risk, regulatory, or business enablement priorities and appropriately plans for interim and target state solutions within data management policies
  • Monitors key performance indicators and internal controls in accordance with established thresholds, standards, and policies
  • Key responsibilities for this role include working with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to develop scope, deliverables, work plan, budget, and timing for new change initiatives 
  • This person will also be responsible for monitoring the execution of defined tasks through tracking of project milestones and their statuses, developing project plans, and measuring progress against ongoing key performance indicators 
  • The Data Manager will also work with the team to identify risks and issues and go-to-green plans for remediation. Any impacts to project scope, timeline, or funding needs to be communicated to stakeholders to ensure transparency into issues and decisions

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of data management experience
  • Experienced project manager supporting data sourcing or regulatory reporting projects
  • Understanding of Enterprise Change Standards
  • Highly motivated, proactive and a self-starter; strong sense of ownership & ability to create and execute plans without daily oversight
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong partnership and relationship management skills; ability to work and effectively communicate across functions and organizational lines/levels
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
  • Strong analytical, risk management and organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Hands-on, applied experience supporting data change
  • Highly organized; able to effectively prioritize and balance multiple efforts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify and summarize complex topics. Comfortable leading presentations
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint)

Desired Qualifications:

  • U.S. and/or international regulatory reporting experience
  • Knowledge of credit products and processes
  • Experience and comfort working with large data sets
  • Ability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input, and when to act independently
  • Able to identify issues, collaborate on solutions and resolve effectively
  • Able to identify issues and escalate as needed
  • Prior experience managing multiple projects and adjusting to changing deadlines 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
