Process Overview*

GCIBT & GPS EMEA provides end-to-end technology solutions for Global Banking and Markets businesses including Treasury, Credit, Payments, Transaction Banking, Equities Trading, Prime Brokerage, Interest Rates, Currencies, Commodities, Derivatives and Structured Products. Across all these products, solutions include architecture, design, development, change management, implementation and support using various enterprise technologies. In addition, GCIBT & GPS provides Sales, CRM, Electronic Trading, Trade Workflow, Pricing, and Market Risk, Middle office, Collateral Management, Credit Risk, Post-trade confirmation, Settlement and Client service processes for Trading, Capital Markets, and Wealth Management businesses. The Tech with Ops portfolio consists of a diverse set of team members from across Operations, Technology Delivery and Architecture organizations.  These teams work together to implement ideas generated out of the Tech with Ops collaboration. The team is constituted with a combination of Execution Architects, Business Solution Management, Development, Testing and Support teams.

Job Description:

Product Owner acts as a bridge between the Business and Technology groups working closely with Change Managers, Product/Client managers, Operations and Technology streams.

They proactively ensure requirements definition and delivery meet the key objectives of the product or change. Although a Product Owner will be skilled in various analysis techniques and tools the key aspect of the role centers on strong analytical, communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a team as they deliver technology solutions. Key responsibilities of the role include developing solutions and processes for delivering features based on their knowledge of design/architectural patterns and Agile/DevOps practices. This role ensures the systems design and requirements are aligned to achieve the desired business outcomes, and that team practices and coding/quality principles are aligned to achieve the desired technology outcomes. They have built significant experience through multiple software implementations and has developed both depth and breadth in several technical competencies.

  • Help business and operations to identify and formulate change needs and Business Cases.
  • Assess the impact and scope of the change.
  • Capture analyze and document functional requirements for a given project.
  • Capture and document all non-functional requirements for the project 
  • Develop complete and accurate business models including process, data and organizational.
  • Ensure IT and Operational teams fully understand the requirements, scope and objectives through full collaboration and interactive process during the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise between the business units, technology teams, delivery, and support teams to arrive at optimal solutions. Facilitate Walkthroughs for requirement and solution assessments.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Developers and Subject Matter Experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
  • Assist in the production of RFIs and RFPs when tendering to vendors and external suppliers, and in the subsequent review and selection.
  • Ensure the requirements are delivered by IT and/or vendors as specified.
  • The development lifecycle is an iterative one and the Business Analyst must be involved from initial concept through to final implementation tracking that the design, build, testing, and implementation meet the business product, functional, operational and performance requirements.
  • Assist Test Managers in formulating Test Strategy for the various test phases.
    Review of Test Plans/Scenarios to ensure maximum coverage of functional requirements.
  • Support the business through the implementation process.
    This can include support for:
    • Communication Plans,
    • Training Plans,
    • Conversion Plans.
    • Installation and Process planning
  • Ensure correct use of enterprise-wide requirements definition/management systems, methodologies, toolkits, and process standards throughout the project life cycle.

Education: B.E/B.Tech / M.E/MCA

Certificate if any:

Experience range: 08 -10+ years

  • Strong domain knowledge in E2E Wholesale Banking:
    •  APAC/EMEA/LATAM Clearings
    • Payments, DAS, Cards, Sanctions
    • Swift, ISO, Clearing and Settlement,
    • International Wires
  • Ability to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
  • Can critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
  • Successfully engages in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Drives and challenges business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Strong analytical and creative thinking skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
