Job Description:
The Senior Analyst will be a member of the International Legal Entity team in Asia within Global Liquidity Management (GLM) team, a division of Corporate Treasury. GLM is responsible for analyzing the enterprise's overall and relevant individual liquidity positions, for assessing those positions and for proposing changes to them within the enterprise's overall risk appetite. Within GLM, the International Legal Entity team is responsible for managing the liquidity requirements of Bank of America’s international subsidiaries and branches, on an ongoing and strategy basis.
The role involves determining liquidity requirements, contractual obligations, contingent risks, as well as cash flow forecasting and stress testing. This team works closely with Line of Business and support partners to develop a culture of liquidity management across international jurisdictions.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as SME to provide LCR and NSFR interpretation and advisory support for branch reporting across the region
- Support key liquidity management practices including Contingency Funding plan, Recovery Plans, liquidity assessments, liquidity stress testing and others in each country across Asia
- Represent liquidity management team in ensuring regulatory requests and exams requirements are met
- Collaborate with country treasury funding teams in representing liquidity team including presenting to periodic ALCO on key liquidity topics and metrics
- Support the production of other liquidity risk reporting - summary sources and uses, liquid assets, forecasts, stress testing, and other ad hoc reports for the Asia region
- Interpret and respond to new regulations impacting liquidity
- Provide insightful liquidity analysis to management teams
- Contribute to key control and documentation process
- Implement global and regional liquidity management policies
- Enhance and develop liquidity stress model assumptions for stress testing.
- Engage with the Lines of Business to develop or validate liquidity stress assumptions.
- Analyse new business initiatives and products to assess their liquidity and funding risks
- Input into periodic presentations for various regional and global Committees, Board of Directors, Enterprise and Local Regulators
- Support other ad hoc projects within International GLM
- Support annual documentation and governance processes
Skills:
- Understanding of liquidity management as it pertains to banking and broker dealers as well as nuances related to international jurisdictions. Experience working globally and working as part of a team across multiple geographies. Intellectual curiosity and ability to drive project goals across functions with minimal oversight.
- The individual selected for this role will serve as a liaison between GLM and its business partners across various teams including country funding team, regulatory reporting, CFO, line of business and funding as the international processes are developed and enhanced. He/she will need to understand the needs of business partners as well as the bank’s internal stress testing and the LCR / NSFR rules.
- Knowledge of liquidity risk and funding in an international financial institution and a good understanding of risk management concepts and accounting/finance principles
- Experience in regulatory engagement on liquidity management preferred
- Experience in a similar liquidity / treasury role preferred
- Strong quantitative background including excel modelling to enable effective problem solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Is articulate and is expected to regularly present results and communicate with peers and/or senior management
- Independent, self-driven, and can drive task completions under a tight schedule
- Attention to detail is important and is able to complete reporting with minimum supervision
