Responsibilities:
Support the London Head of Accounting Policy on IFRS matters
Provides complex accounting guidance to Finance and Traders within the Broker Dealer for compliance with GAAP
Offer professional technical accounting assistance on capital market transactions and events, including drafting memos to support the accounting conclusions
Reviews new products and complex structured transactions.
Participates in the implementation of new accounting standards and Corporate Accounting Policies
Assist in maintaining the corporate accounting policy manual and offer improvements and supplements to the manual
Oversee emerging French GAAP standards of accounting and interpreting the effects to the organization
Acts in an advocacy role on behalf of the bank with accounting standard setters and various industry organizations
Reviews the Broker Dealer’s financial statements using French GAAP & IFRS
Assist in drafting comment letters to standard setters and regulatory bodies
Interacts directly with External & Internal audit engagement management and staff
What we are looking for:
Deep technical knowledge of the IFRS accounting standards, some US GAAP knowledge would be preferred
Proven understanding of Capital Markets
Prior Big-4 audit experience preferred
Understanding of ECB regulations
Ability to understand and dissect complex transactions
Ability to work across teams within the organization to implement accounting standards and lead projects
Confident communication skills, including written and oral presentation skills
Ability to interact at different levels of the organization
Excellent time management and organization skills
