Process Overview*

FP&A is an important function within the CFO Organization supporting the Global Banking & Markets Business. FP&A teams are responsible for providing information, insight and analysis relating to the financial performance of these businesses.  The role covers reporting and accounting for Global Banking and Markets for APAC, EMEA, LATAM and AMRS Regions. Primarily includes Monthly Financial Packs, Daily Weekly P&L, Expense analysis and Reporting, Expense forecast, Balance Sheet and trend reporting, Competitor analysis, pre-IR packs, actual v/s forecast analysis and journal postings.

Interactions as part of this role will largely be with business leaders, global FP&A teams and the wider Finance organization.

The role is varied with broad scope and interaction with many key stakeholders across the franchise, offering the opportunity for both personal and professional development.

Job Description

Individual will be a contributing member of the Global banking & Markets (GBAM) Finance team. He/ she will drive productivity & accuracy, and generate client satisfaction by providing operational excellence for a wide array of financial planning, analysis & accounting related activities using emerging technology tools like Tableau/Alteryx. Individual will further engaged on various activities including and not restricted to Monthly Financial Packs, Daily Weekly P&L, Expense analysis and Reporting, Expense forecast, Balance Sheet and Trend reporting, Competitor analysis, pre-IR packs, actual v/s forecast analysis and journal postings.

This individual will be working with various functional teams including BFOs, Product control, Bankers, Technology etc. to support Management Reporting and Analysis, business partnering, expense management and recovery processes etc.

This individual should have sound understanding and experience of Markets business (FICC/Equities) and product suite in Business finance operations and/or product control domains.

Thorough understanding of global Markets business are prerequisites.


• Supervise Production and Reporting of deliverables including commentaries for financials

• Work closely with BFOs, Operations, GBAM CFO, and Technology teams on a regular basis

•Lead and Influence the matrix that supports business strategic direction for the team.

•Contribute through thought leadership with Subject Matter Expert knowledge

•Establish and maintain relevant controls and feedback systems

•Partner closely with stakeholders LOB (as needed) to support reporting routines.

•Lead month-end close and all other associated management reporting.

•Manage research, projects, ad-hoc requests and simplification and standardization efforts.

•Oversee Forecast/Plan and support business reviews strategic direction of the team.

• Production and reporting of financial reports to key stakeholders and management..

• Assist with execution of month-end controls ensuring management vs financial P&L variances are within thresholds

• Development & continuous improvement of existing processes & workflow.Provide guidance and training to the team members

•Build strong partnership across finance functions, enhance communication and collaboration

•Identify and drive Opex opportunities, Develop, standardize & ensure continuous improvement of current processes & routines

• Risk and control mindset, ensure adherence to firms risk and control framework



Education Qualification: Postgraduate degree or Accounting qualification (e.g. Chartered Accountant – CA, CFA L-3, FRM, MBA from Tier 1 Institutes etc.)

Experience Range*

10 to 15 years with at least 5+ years’ experience in Global Markets business (any product/s)

• Strong business sense and control mindset, demonstrable risk identification and management

• Ability and confidence to tackle new concepts and ideas associate with on going change in the business

• Ability to build SME knowledge within the group - provide appropriate level of business, product & process training to the peers & teams

• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities

• A ‘Can do’ attitude, self-driven and proactive, be innovative and have the ability to generate new and creative ideas

• Attention to detail, strong Excel skills, good working knowledge of accounting concepts

• Good understanding of Global Market business and relevant experience is preferred

• Candidates with emerging technology (Alteryx, Tableau, Workvia) experience is preferred

Work Timings*

• Weekly Offs : Saturday & Sunday
