Summary

The Global Rates e-Trading group – part of the FICC Trading group – is seeking a quantitative trader to join the team in New York. The team is responsible for the algorithmic marketmaking of flow Rates products. The role requires a combination of business, quantitative and technical expertise and requires close co-operation with our partners in trading, sales, QSG and technology.

Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing risk and developing trading activities with limited direction from senior staff. Key responsibilities include proactively maintaining and building client relationships, supporting clients with buying and selling financial products, and developing and implementing trading strategies to achieve revenue goals. Job expectations include having in-depth knowledge of risk management, hedging, and trading strategies as well as market characteristics.

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with global sales teams to help the bank's clients execute trading activities, while sharing knowledge of the current market environment
  • Performs trading activities in compliance with federal regulations, industry standards, and other requirements
  • Assigns accounts to pre-defined trading models and administers trades based on product guidelines
  • Operates as a market maker, buying and selling financial instruments in accordance with established trading strategies and risk parameters
  • Day-to-day running of risk books in one or more of European government bond, US Treasuries or swaps;
  • Ad-hoc data analysis and report generation to better understand our risks and profitability;
  • Data analysis to understand and predict market and client behaviours;
  • Proposing and developing algorithms to price and hedge government bonds and swaps;
  • Monitoring and enhancing existing algorithms;

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly;
  • Previous experience of financial markets electronic trading infrastructure advantageous, but not a pre-requisite.

New York pay range:

$130,000 - $225,000 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
