Location Overview:

The Team: 

You will join an established hard-working team of five located in both Dublin and Paris and will be part of the wider Compliance and Operational Risk community based in the Dublin office. As a coverage officer you will have opportunities to engage closely with risk teams across the region and globally, and should expect direct and daily interaction with business individuals.

Role Description:

The International Compliance and Operational Risk team for Banking are recruiting for a Compliance and Operational Risk Analyst to join the Dublin office. You will work with other compliance officers, including horizontal coverage owners to provide comprehensive oversight of the frontline and control functions. This role exercises judgment and influence, and constructively advises and challenges business leaders, balancing business strategy with appropriate controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent compliance and operational risk oversight of frontline performance, advising senior management on risk exposure and risk management with particular focus on the banking and payments business;   

  • Assess risks, associated controls and their effectiveness, while driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations and adherence to internal policies

  • Identify emerging compliance and operational risks, and provide a second-line of defence assessment of the control environment

  • Develop independent risk management reporting for respective area(s) of coverage as input into management routines

  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and monitor the external regulatory environment

  • Develop and deliver training content where applicable

  • A flexible and solution oriented perspective, with the desire and intellectual curiosity to find answers to complex issues

  • Willingness to learn beyond the task or job at hand

  • Highly motivated and proactive team player

Skills that will help:

  • Critical thinking and the ability to review and challenge

  • Technical proficiency in data gathering and reporting: Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); navigating internal systems and databases

  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills

  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills

  • Global Markets knowledge will also be advantageous
