The Team:

EMEA Technology Global Compliance and Operational Risk (“GCOR”) is responsible for second line coverage of technology built, bought and used by Global Technology in EMEA to service our EMEA businesses.

The team operates in a technically complex, fast-changing and dynamic environment with an excellent culture of growth, learning and development. As part of a Team of 7 you will execute the GCOR program to provide second line coverage for all legal entities in the EMEA region spanning all Technology groups delivering a complex range of activities.

Role Description:

The Compliance and Operational Risk Manager for the EMEA Chief Technology Risk Office will provide second line risk coverage for three sizable and complex Technology functions i.e. Core Technology Infrastructure (including but not limited to: database, server and desktop platforms, cloud, and network communications), Employee Experience Technology (end user support services), and Application Production Services & Engineering,

In addition to day to day risk coverage activities, the Compliance and Operational Risk Manager will work with Chief Technology and Technology leadership on new, and additional initiatives. This includes implementation of regulatory change, and representing Compliance and Operational Risk on executive forums providing effective review and challenge of potential regulatory and/or operational risk issues, and ensuring remediation plans proposed by the line of business are effective.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and leading control testing, targeted risk assessments, and monitoring activities;
  • Independent review & challenge of legal entity Risk Self Assessments with respect to Technology;
  • Identification of material issues arising from Monitoring, Assessment & Testing activities, and ongoing oversight;
  • Periodic review of the firm’s policies relating to Technology and applicability to EMEA entities;
  • Review & challenge of the annual Technology scenario analyses;
  • Effective review of regulatory developments and legislations impacting Technology, interpretation of changes, with communication and education provision to relevant staff on regulatory developments;
  • Reviewing impact of Global Technology developments, risks and issues with respect to local legal entities as well as the broader EMEA region;
  • Working with global GCOR peers and GCOR technology leadership to ensure consistency of GCOR approach across all regions.

What we are looking for:

  • Specialist knowledge of one or more of: database technologies, server and desktop platforms, cloud environments, and network communications (including telephony).
  • Extensive experience in first, second or third line risk
  • A flexible and solution driven perspective, and a determination and desire to find answers to complex issues
  • Willingness to learn beyond the task or job at hand
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
