Job Description:

The New Issue Capital Markets Product Diligence Specialist will help conduct issuer due diligence.  Additionally, the individual will be responsible for assisting with the origination and marketing process for the broader ISG Capital Markets New Issue business (e.g., Closed End Funds, Debt New Issue, Equity New Issue, Private Placements and Unit Investment Trusts). 

The role requires analytical work, relationship management, and a strong understanding of capital markets and underwriting processes. Prior experience as an investment or corporate banker with capital markets diligence experience, especially covering and conducting diligence on banks and financial institutions, is preferred. Acts as the senior product representative on a client team and is solely responsible for all product transactions with key clients. Negotiates fee structures. Has extensive, in-depth knowledge of product functions and can operate independently in handling transactions. Strong client relationship skills used to control and coordinate all aspects of a transaction, from marketing and documentation to closing.

Specific responsibilities consist of analyzing public earnings announcements, financial statements and news and private material on issuers and preparing materials for GWIM’s committees to review and approve individual issuers.  Additional responsibilities include interfacing directly with advisors around deal questions, general market color and investment characteristics on broader New Issue offerings. The role also requires live deal support, management reporting, FA support, marketing and sales skills, order entry support, and some ad hoc reporting and administrative tasks.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Exposure to different asset classes at a high level, to fully understand differences between fixed income (corporate and municipal), asset-backed securities, and equities.
  • Thoroughly versed in evaluating accounting, financial and business diligence, and experience evaluating financial statements.
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Must be able to function in an open area (trading floor) environment.
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg desired. 
  • Required registrations include: Series 7, 63 and 65 (or 66), & 79, or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire

New York pay and benefits information

New York pay range:

$126,000 - $184,900 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
