Job Description:

The Business Analyst is responsible for providing business metric and program analysis, report management, and project support at several different levels. The position requires the incumbent to have diverse administrative expertise and to oversee various policies, programs, and initiatives, to be able to think strategically, as well as perform in a proactive manner with limited supervision. The position also requires the individual to build and maintain relationships with field management, and work closely with other organizations within the LOB.

Role responsibilities include being a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Small Business Merchant associates in pricing and more complex deals. Providing feedback on merchant processing statements upon review and education is critical to increasing knowledge and skill level of the Small Business Merchant associates. The Ability to support front line associates on different processing solutions and platforms through the inclusion of pricing analysis is critical. Key responsibilities of the role include working with Merchant Consultants to provide detailed analyses of merchant processing statements, pricing tools and the business case submitted to determine merchant profitability. Adherence to pricing strategy, ensuring effectiveness and appropriate pricing for prospective clients is paramount. Individuals must demonstrate a broad understanding of the business and external marketplace to ensure Merchant services is maintaining a competitive position while balancing client experience and opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of merchant pricing, software, gateways, security as well as expert industry knowledge in Healthcare, Retail, Restaurant and Business to Business

• Act as an expert in the payments industry possessing in depth knowledge of pricing and statement analysis

• Assists with the evaluation and collaboration of overall pricing execution of the sales teams to ensure pricing is in adherence with the overall strategy and minimizes the potential for revenue compression, retention risks, escalations and client attrition

• Provides expertise to leaders to identify opportunities to enhance front line expertise

• Establish rapport with Merchant Consultants via verbal and written communication

• Ensure timely delivery and collaboration of statement analysis with Merchant Consultants

• Utilize the company’s proprietary revenue and profitability systems to complete statement analysis and pricing model comparisons

• Provide merchant pricing guidance expertise to sales associates including acquiring, equipment, non-processing fees, etc.

• Stay current on bank product offerings, wholesale costs, MSRP and retail pricing • Identify and assist in the implementation, as well as documentation of process improvements and best practices

• Navigate the organization and work in tandem with Finance, Product and Pricing Partners to ensure organizational goals and strategies are maintained

• Ability to manage and respond to inquiries from Sales teams regarding solution capabilities, leveraging existing resources and serve as the escalation lead partnering with Product, Pricing & Profitability subject matter experts to track, address and resolve.


Required Skills:

• 3+ years Payments and industry experience

• Strong business acumen and analytical skills

• Some knowledge or experience of merchant processing statements and pricing

• Team player with proven ability to interact well with others

• The ability to influence and ensure successful outcomes

• Proven ability to review and coach complex deals driving timely decisions

• Ability to work independently

• One or more years work experience in Sales, Retention or Client Service Role

Washington pay and benefits information

Washington pay range:

$72,500 - $113,800 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible
