The E&S Risk Advisory manager will play a critical role in executing the bank’s Environmental and Social Risk strategy. 

Job Description:

  • Reports to Global Environmental Executive, accountable to Environmental and Social Business Advisory pillar lead
  • Member of bank’s Global Environmental Group (GEG) 
  • Responsible for working with GEG/CSR/Public Policy teammates, lines of business, risk and other partners to advise and guide on the evaluation of  potential environmental and social risks 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a resource and provide technical expertise for key internal stakeholders on environmental and social issues, policies and positions taking into consideration industry best practices and standards as well as regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Identify and analyze a full range of known and emerging E&S issues relevant to the bank and produce high quality executive summaries to help shape our point of view on the topic.
  • Manage and conduct environmental and social due diligence.
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with line of business and support functions to develop content and drive awareness and collaboration to address key environmental and social risks.
  • Engage with external partners, including peer banks, NGOs and shareholders, to incorporate feedback and best practices monitor industry trends.

Critical Competencies:

  • Prior experience in environmental and social risk management, evaluating clients and transactions for compliance with ESG policies and standards.
  • Experience in working for a financial institution, understanding bank products and decision-making processes strongly preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills, capacity to process complex issues, and ability to analyze, interpret and summarize vast amounts of information quickly.
  • Strong writing and research skills, combined with ability to filter, summarize and communicate complex relevant issues to executives and other internal and external audiences.
  • Ability to anticipate potential reputational risks for the company before they arise.

Required Qualifications:

  • Comfortable in a complex, fast paced and results-oriented corporate environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interface with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders comfortably and regularly.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to successfully multi-task and make accurate decisions under short time deadlines and with minimal supervision.
  •  Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and other business technologies an absolute must.

New York pay range:

$102,000 - $173,500 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
