The role sits within the APAC Global Markets Operations Global Data and Reporting Operations (APAC GMO GDRO) team.  The team drives the Reference Data management for Global Markets Operations in APAC.

The reference data team manages the creation and maintenance of account level reference data, including standing settlement instructions, to facilitate the processing and settlement of trades across all global market product classifications.  In addition, the team receives, digitizes and reports on account level documentation in order to meet firm and client regulatory requirements.  This role will require providing direction for driving technical and non-technical changes in improving the accuracy and efficiency of the overall reference data program.

Key Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of Operations experience.
  • Able to work on all aspect of program/project management- resource planning, work breakdown, risk/issue management, financial management, implementation planning, testing, training/communication
  • Experience delivering large projects with significant impact to multiple lines of business that may have cross functional or inter departmental implications.
  • Excellence communication skills and ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in connecting with a diverse set of stakeholders to understand future business needs – is a continuous learner
  • Participate in and drive collaborative efforts to advance tools, technology, and ways of working to better serve an evolving client base.
  • Understand market products
  • Ability to manage and query data (SQL, Excel – other packages useful)
  • Management reporting skills and expertise in Excel and PowerPoint reports to communicate progress against targets

Job Description:

Supporting Cash Equities Business.

  • Working as part of a team to support the reference data requirements for the APAC Equities business.
  • Coverage of Futures, China Stock Connect, Prime Brokerage and Cash Equities products.
  • Identifying automation opportunities by reviewing process health and design
  • Overseeing an offshore GBS team in the day-to-day processing of reference data requests
  • Implementing and managing key controls
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to resolve problems and manage escalations.

Technology Management

  • Define the strategy for automation and process improvement for APAC RDM
  • Create a clear approach to effectively address event-driven change requirements and automation opportunities.
  • Work with the GMO change team, technology partners and line of business stakeholders to standardize the change intake process and prioritization criteria for any change requests
  • Maintain an inventory list of funding asks based on the automation opportunities and strategy
  • Manage the delivery of any ongoing changes/ initiatives and have a clear understanding of the applications used across APAC Global Markets for reference data.  

Process Implementation

  • Lead the implementation of any new initiatives/enhancements to existing processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, assess operational impact, and help with designing efficient processes
  • Develop and document procedures, workflows, and controls for any changes

Stakeholder Management

  • Foster strong relationships with Front office COO, Business, Operations, Technology, Audit, Compliance and other control groups and stakeholders involved in the reference data management.
  • Communicate project updates, address concerns, and manage expectations to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Continuous Improvement

  • Working metrics and data to provide insights and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate reporting processes, leveraging technology solutions where applicable.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of the overall reference data program.
