The Role

An opportunity exists for a Vice President within the Australian Insurance & Diversified Financials Research team, based in Sydney. The role is an opportunity to accelerate your career with a fast-paced working environment in sell-side equities research. There will be an expectation for the candidate to lead stock coverage early into the role.  

Responsibilities

  • Creating and maintaining earnings and valuation models for Insurance & Diversified Financials companies, and developing comprehensive knowledge of company financial statements
  • Presenting ideas confidently and concisely to internal and external stakeholders
  • Analyzing industry trends, interrogating data and connecting with industry experts
  • Developing relationships with institutional equities clients, equity sales & trading, company management and investor relations
  • Preparing and writing research reports, presentations and other research-related documents
  • Undertaking bespoke client requests.

Preferred Background

  • Relevant work experience in financial statement analysis, preferably from an equity research/ investment banking/ valuation/finance related role
  • Excellent academic record
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines to consistently high standards in a team environment, with a high level of initiative and motivation
  • Strong communication skills; written, oral, and numeric
