Job Description and Responsibilities
BABC provides asset-based loans to clients in the Global Commercial and Global Corporate and Investment Banks, partnering closely with relationship management and product partners. Typical focus is syndicated and sole lender facilities ranging in size from $20 million to up to $5 billion.
The AB (Asset-Based) Credit Officer manages a portfolio of asset-based structured loans in a variety of industries and is responsible for actively monitoring financial and collateral trends and recommending appropriate actions. The role is client-facing, with primary responsibilities including deepening client relationships, growing funded loans and credit revenue, and understanding client financial and collateral trends to evaluate credit needs and manage risk. The target candidate would be expected to handle the most complex client relationships, as well as take a leadership role in managing large bank groups and relationships with financial sponsors and intermediaries. Some travel would be required to meet with clients.
The position could be filled at the SVP or VP level and Credit Officer or Sr Credit Officer level. Given growth of the group, the candidate would have excellent opportunities to progress within the organization.
Required Skills
5+ years’ experience in asset-based lending, cash flow lending, and/or relationship management
Bachelor's or Master’s degree
Sound understanding of commercial credit, transaction structuring, and financial and collateral analysis
Detailed understanding of legal documentation
Focused and well organized
Proactive and confident communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with senior management, clients, attorneys, and financial sponsors
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced business environment with strong time management skills
