Senior Product Specialist

Job Description:

Senior banker responsible for advising on structure, proactive marketing, and execution of syndicated loan solutions to Middle Market Commercial Banking clients and prospects.  A resource to the Region to advise clients and client teams on structure, price and syndication strategy and drive routine syndicated loan market updates including trends and emerging themes.  Accountable for driving new Lead Left wins.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of best efforts & Regional Commercial Credit underwritten pro rata syndicated loan transactions, from marketing and documentation to closing
  • Develop and execute proactive marketing plans and strategies for the Region to drive new lead left wins with clients and prospects
  • Develop differentiated pitch ideas and strategies to win responsibly
  • Lead client discussions around syndicated loan market dynamics (structure, pricing, lender behavior, and the regulatory environment), syndication strategy and BofAML qualifications
  • Advise client teams on structure, pricing and syndication strategy, based on current market conditions
  • Provide regular market updates to client teams on current market dynamics, emerging themes, lender behavior and competitive dynamics
  • Negotiate fees and engagement/commitment papers
  • Establish and maintain a strong partnership with Leveraged Finance to ensure seamless client coverage and current market knowledge
  • Develop lender network and relationships with approved counsel
  • Work closely with Product Specialist II to deliver thoughtful and professional presentation materials to ensure seamless execution of syndicated loans
  • Coach and develop junior talent

Desired Competencies

  • 10+ years experience in a client facing commercial/corporate credit, relationship management or leveraged finance role
  • Excellent credit, structuring, negotiation, communication, presentation and sales skills
  • Strong credibility within their Markets/Regions
  • Ability to assess risk profile and returns to advise on pricing / marketability
  • Willingness to assist with preparation of marketing materials
  • Independent worker
  • Strong time management skills with ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Highly energized team player with a positive attitude
  • Embraces the importance of maintaining BofAML’s core values and brand in everything we do
  • Maintains a polished and professional appearance
  • Series 79 and 63 registration
