Job Description:

This role is responsible for providing regional governance and oversight to Credit and Lending operations across the 12 APAC countries and also be the functional SME . This would include overall review of the branch and service center delivery including metrics, dashboards, risk and control deliverables, project management and other governance related routines. As the credit SME for the region, the role would require reviewing regional functions for standardization, consistency, assessing performance, reviewing controls and approving exceptions. This role will also require the person to support the regional Global Credit Operations Executive in executing regional strategy by implementing key initiatives and change programs in a time bound manner.

Regional Credit Operations organization covers Credit & loans, Syndicated lending, Trade Finance and Leasing operations. As we expand the regional footprint, we are reorganizing the management structure to meet the business and client needs. The scope of this role may expand across other functions , whilst this role at the outset would be an individual contributor role., as we expand our footprint in Singapore this role may get expanded to manage those teams as they come onboard.



Responsibilities:

  • Part of the regional GCO Senior Leadership Team
  • Regional Credit SME and functional manager for all Credit and Lending related functions
  • Be the regional Credit Operations lead and be the Primary point of contact for business partners
  • Plus, functional oversight over the regional credit operations associates who report within the branches
  • Provide regional governance by creating routines with country credit operations leaders to oversee overall delivery across the branches
  • Manage all regional audits, issues and incidents and ensure delivery meets performance standards
  • Lead global, regional operations excellence projects across GCO
  • Prepare monthly update for credit and lending operations for regional and global executives
  • Lead regional people agenda for GCO to enable various engagement and D&I initiatives in partnership with other regional GCO SLT
  • Support regional GCO executive in driving the strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with regional Compliance, business support, risk, and control teams in managing metrics, volumes, issues, incident related to GCO



Skills:

  • University degree in related fields e.g., finance, accounting, business administration or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years of working experience in banking operations/Lending/Leasing/ trade finance/ 
  • Added advantage if person has transformation, project management, change management experience
  • Strong thought leadership, independent and logical thinker with highly developed problem-solving skills
  • A team player, high on collaboration and partnership with peers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Strong influencing and persuasive skills, ability to obtaining favorable outcomes
  • Effective navigation skill to source required information by engaging with relevant stakeholders
  • Comfortable interacting and presenting to Executives and Senior Leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build deep and broad business/technical acumen
  • Strong communication- both verbal and written. Ability to translate concepts to executable action
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results
  • Strong data and analytical skills
  • Management reporting skills, reasonable expertise in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter and keen attention to details
  • Prior experience in operating in a regional role with offshore stake holders and matrix organization
