Sr Trading, Sales Assistant: Global Rates

Job Description:

Responsible for trade capture and resolving trade discrepancies.  Will liaise with traders, trade control, counterparties, operations, finance, and compliance.  Other responsibilities will include responding to ad hoc requests and investigations, reporting, and participation in growth initiative and operational efficiency projects.

The CFD and Structured Notes (“CFD”) partners with Sales, Structuring, and Trading teams to meet investor-client needs for structured notes in the primary and secondary markets.  CFD is both an issuing and market making desk and is responsible for risk management of its outstanding debt and market making inventory.  These products are linked to equities, rates, currencies, commodities, and credit. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade capture, trade P&L and risk summarization, and trade discrepancy resolution
  • Collaborating with TA team members and other stakeholders including traders, trade control, counterparties, operations, finance, and compliance
  • Trade monitoring and preparation of various reports for traders
  • Responding to ad hoc requests and investigations
  • Participating in growth initiative and operational efficiency projects

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with structured debt and derivative products
  • Familiarity with trade capture
  • Strong communications skills and confidence interacting with senior and junior stakeholders including traders, trade control, counterparties, operations, finance, and compliance
  • Strong sense of urgency with ability to multi-task and engage business partners for efficient resolution
  • Flexible hours as needed to support trade activity across multiple time zones

Desired Skills

  • 2+ years of trading floor or middle office operations experience
  • Ability to think critically or inquire further about the job functions being performed, understand the implications of these actions, identify and escalate issues, and propose solutions
  • Self-starter with outstanding problem solving and task completion skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong operational processing and risk control skills including the ability to build well-controlled spreadsheets and source appropriate and meaningful data
  • Be enthusiastic, keen to learn and quick to gain an understanding of complex issues and concepts
  • Take personal responsibility for delivering high quality work and have a track record of outperformance and delivery
  • Be able to design and produce insightful regular reports and drive continuous improvement in these reports
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment – both work closely with senior members of the team and work independently
  • Operates with urgency at all times

New York pay and benefits information

New York pay range:

$85,000 - $135,000 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
