We are currently looking for a motivated Apprentice to join our Global Information Security (GIS) team in Chester in a full-time role whilst studying the Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions degree apprenticeship.

As an apprentice, you will join one of our teams in GIS EMEA. Depending on the team you join your key tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Supporting GIS functions analyzing, researching, improving, defining, implementing, and executing information security controls and standards
Supporting team members performing specialised GIS functions
Responding and performing triage Incidents
Partnering and developing key relationships with response teams of Cyber Security Operations (CSO)
Monitoring event queues and investigating and analysing security alerts
Understanding the requirements of Bank applications and how to use them
Testing applications using a variety of tools to identify vulnerabilities that could expose the Bank to risk
Monitoring existing and proposed security standard setting groups
Performing vulnerability fix verification testing in support of the remediation
Providing technical support to clients, management and staff throughout risk assessments and the implementation of appropriate data security procedures and products
Sharing knowledge with technical and non-technical colleagues directly and through training sessions
Ensuring identified risks are managed effectively

As the successful applicant, you will be able to:
Show demonstrable evidence of self-learning outside of studies, and efforts to advance technical skills
Display clear motivation for exploring a Technology career within financial services, and a specific interest in Information Security
Demonstrate capacity for innovative thinking and strong problem solving
Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with a variety of people
Display evidence of strong teamwork and leadership
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
Demonstrate integrity and ethics by earning other’s trust and respect through consistent honesty and professionalism in all interactions
Will be advantageous if there is demonstrable coding experience in an object-oriented programming language.
Eligibility requirements
English & mathematics GCSEs (or equivalent)
Been a resident of the UK for the past 3 years
Not in full-time education when starting the apprenticeship
Have the right to work and remain in the UK indefinitely
