What you can expect

The APAC Global Banking & Markets Anti-Money Laundering Operations (APAC GB & GM AML Ops) organization is a central control function which governs, facilitates, and oversees the APAC end-to-end AML program across all GB and GM businesses and jurisdictions through implementation of processes and controls to effectively manage AML and economic sanctions risks. This candidate will engage in management and oversight of Audit & Exam engagement & issues specific to the APAC region. Additionally, the candidate will have responsibility in Regulatory data reporting. The candidate should have a strong risk management discipline and experience running operational risk processes.

What you will do

  • Exercise full leadership and ownership on Audit & Exam team performance including timeliness of deliverables, quality of coordination & reporting
  • Manage Audit & Exam engagement, process and response, ensure proper governance and protocol is followed; assist with approach to responses, research and tracking for timely submission
  • Manage Regulatory & GFC Risk Assessments and Survey reporting, regular and off-cycle Regulatory requests on customer due diligence information. Ensure adequate reporting governance, challenge data sanity and approach; track timely submission
  • Oversee APAC Regional Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), identify and proactively escalate emerging thematic risk within the customer due diligence processes
  • Engage with APAC GB & GM AML Ops Process Owners and GB & GM COOs to review and debate potential pipeline issues; engage with Corporate Audit and GFC partners during Issue identification, action plan review/approval and audit validation.
  • Actively liaise and manage relationship with APAC Financial Crimes and Compliance and Corporate Audit for processes supported by APAC GB & GM AML Ops
  • Coordinate across other AML support partners and stakeholders to ensure global process engagement
  • Identify issues and/or control improvements for remediation
  • Act as an ambassador of the risk culture
  • Late evening calls can be expected
