Role Description:

We are looking for an application developer to join our EMEA Reference Data team within the Global Markets Data, Architecture and Business group. The team is responsible for delivery of a wide range of technology solutions which support the reference data requirements for Global Markets business.

An exciting Application Developer role, you will use market-leading technologies such as Java, Scala, AKKA and Hadoop.

Both cross-functional and hands-on, as a part of a team you will be contributing to all aspects of the software development life cycle, including:

  • Analysis of business and technical requirements,
  • Design and development of business-critical solutions,
  • Working closely with technical and business partners across the globe,
  • Responsible for application design, development, delivery, and post-production support,
  • Taking opportunities to improve development tooling and infrastructure to help the team go faster.

This role offers an opportunity to work on some key regulatory programs within the Bank.

Prior knowledge of the client/product reference data or global markets domain will be extremely beneficial. 

The Team:

You will join the EMEA Reference Data team within the Global Markets Data, Architecture and Business group - an established team with experience of delivering complex business and regulatory projects, building upon existing Reference Data application frameworks and architecture.  New joiners to the team benefit from extensive training and support provided by experienced team members and training material and resources provided by the central framework teams.

Core Skills:

Technical Skills Required

  • Really good development skills, preferably including Scala or Java
  • Strong understanding of software build/release management skills
  • Good understanding of test automation, i.e. Unit-testing, TDD, BDD, etc.
  • Proven experience in building scalable and robust applications
  • Experience of projects in multiple technologies and functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Technical Skills Desired-

  • Python programming skills
  • Reference Data or general Global Markets knowledge
