Position Summary

We are looking for an energetic, highly motivated, self-directed, results-driven individual Java Developer to work in Cash Equity projects. Manages application technology and security guidelines, programmers and makes all decisions on performance management. Supports systems through maintenance, modification, problem resolution to support ongoing delivery of services and/or operations. Formulates/designs systems scope and objectives for the applications/development of a major project or multiple lesser projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing required intra-day and end of day reporting systems enhancements

  • Writing quality unit tests

  • Liaising closely with the business users to elicit and document their requirements

  • Producing release notes

  • Providing support in the UAT testing stages

  • Coordinating release signoff

  • Providing bug fixes

  • Assisting in the production deployment activities

  • Providing ongoing production support post-deployment. ​​​

Required skills

  • 4 to 6+ years’ experience in software development life cycle (Agile and Waterfall).

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.

  • Excellent oral and written communication (English-Spanish).

  • Ability to work as part of a group or a as an individual contributor.

  • Contribute to risk culture by holding self-accountable to managing risk.

  • Remains positive and focused during times of pressure or adversity.

  • Strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.

  • Analytical skills and knowledge about business process, and product life cycles.

  • Demonstrated compliance culture.

  • Ability to engage with the client in technology discussions.

  • Experience in issue resolution across multiple locations and businesses.

  • Self-motivated, pro-active individual, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to support projects from concept to delivery.

  • Critical thinking and problem solving.

  • Influence others.

  • Quick learner and self-starter who requires minimal supervision to excel in a dynamic environment.

Desired skills

  • Brokerage House and Cash Equity experience

  • 4 to 6+ years’ experience in software development JAVA

  • Solid knowledge SQL preferred Sybase

  • Solid knowledge  Unix

  • Familiar with: Eclipse, WinSCP, Super Putty, Beyond Compare, GIT, Excel, Jasper Reports, JIRA
